Large Paju café for office lunch with truffle risotto: Four & More

Four & More (포앤모어) is a large Han River-view café on Soraji-ro in Paju, Gyeonggi, spread over 5 floors including a rooftop and serving full meals alongside bakery items. On a weekday lunch break with coworkers, the writer ordered shrimp rosé pasta, truffle mushroom cream risotto, a mango yogurt smoothie and a mugwort matcha latte; the food came out quickly in generous portions, leaving plenty of time to eat within the lunch hour. With its spacious floors, elevator, 2nd-floor group room and large parking lot, Four & More is a solid pick for office lunches and group gatherings in Paju.

Paju dessert café: fruit bingsu after a coworker lunch, Fruit Forest

Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store (과일의숲 파주직영점) is a fruit dessert café on Dolgoji-gil, in the Simhaksan food street in Paju, Gyeonggi. On a sweltering day, a group of coworkers stopped in during their lunch break and shared the ₩32,000 fruit bingsu (shaved ice) topped with 10 kinds of fruit. The portion was even bigger than the 4–5 servings described, and because the fruit is fresh rather than frozen, the texture and sweetness were excellent. For fresh fruit bingsu to share with a group in Paju, Fruit Forest is a great choice.

Korean BBQ near Unjeong Station: 500g pork platter for two, Gimchiok

Gimchiok Paju Unjeong Branch is a cauldron-lid pork belly BBQ restaurant near Unjeong Station in Paju, Gyeonggi, and the writer's family are regulars. The writer and her daughter ordered the 500g mixed platter of pork belly, pork neck and gabrisal (a fatty cut near the pork shoulder), at about 8,000 won per 100g of Korean pork. They swapped the side for rolled omelette (+2,000 won), added kimchi stew and grilled the meat and kimchi together on the cauldron lid.
