Pizza pub in Dasan, Namyangju: half-and-half set at It's Pizza Dasan

On weekend evenings, you often find yourself craving really good pizza, right? This time I visited It's Pizza Dasan (잇츠피자 다산점), a place I had only ever had delivered, and ate in. It has a reputation as a go-to pizza spot in Dasan, so I went with high expectations, and to tell you the result first: it exceeded them.

What's the vibe at It's Pizza Dasan? More like a pizza pub

The atmosphere is what stuck with me first. It feels more like a pizza pub than an ordinary pizza restaurant, so it's nice for taking your time over a meal. The lighting and interior are neat and clean, which suits a date, and there are more seats than I expected, so it looked good for family meals or get-togethers too.

It's Pizza is famous in Dasan for both dining in and delivery, but eating there in person let me really taste the crispy texture and flavor of freshly baked pizza, so I was even happier with it. There are several kinds of draft beer that go well with pizza, and after the meal they even had candy ready as a little dessert, a small touch that showed some thoughtfulness.

Half & Half Pizza Set L: with half-moon potatoes and a chicken tender salad

The menu I ordered was the Half & Half Pizza Set L. You pick two pizzas, and it also comes with half-moon potatoes (wedge-style fried potatoes) and a salad, so it was plenty even for two people.

Even the side dishes were better than expected. The half-moon potatoes were generously covered in cheese powder with a rich, savory flavor, and I kept picking them up one piece at a time until the bottom of the plate was almost showing.

I chose chicken tender for the salad. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and the dressing wasn't overdone, so it was perfect alongside the pizza. Pizza alone can get a bit heavy, but the salad balanced it out nicely and made the meal even more satisfying.

Bacon Potato and Shrimp Gold: the sweet potato nude edge is a must

For the pizzas I picked Bacon Potato and Shrimp Gold, and I changed the edge to Nude Edge Sweet Potato. With the very first bite, "this place is really good" came out naturally.

The toppings were generous with no bare spots, and the sauce blended in harmoniously, so I never got tired of it to the end. The Bacon Potato nicely combined salty bacon with soft potato, while the Shrimp Gold paired plump shrimp with a rich, savory flavor, so each had its own charm.

Above all, I was really glad I chose the sweet potato for the nude edge. The crust was moist and sweet all the way to the end, so there was nothing left over and I finished happily down to the last slice. Having eaten it myself, I completely understand why it gets talked about so much as a Dasan pizza favorite.

Why I want to go back

With every slice, I started to see why so many people come back. The dough was chewy without being too thick, so it balanced well with the toppings, and there was plenty of cheese, leaving a savory flavor that lingered.

Alternating between the Bacon Potato and Shrimp Gold let me enjoy their different charms, and I didn't tire of them until the last slice. The set is so well stocked that it was more than enough for two people to eat their fill.

Delivery would surely be satisfying too, but if you have time, I recommend eating in at least once. You really get the charm of freshly baked pizza, and it looks like a good choice if you're looking for a place for a date or a family meal. Next time I'd like to come back and try the other menu items one by one.
