Pork BBQ for 4 in Sanbon, about ₩60,000: à la carte belly, Geobugi

Have you noticed how crazy eating-out prices are these days? Eating meat until you're properly full can empty your wallet in no time.

I heard a new BBQ place in Sanbon was a real bargain, so I went to check it out! People were raving that it's great value but the meat quality is also seriously good.

Inside Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch: good for a group dinner?

The inside of Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch is spacious and pleasant, and every seat is a plush sofa, so it's a solid recommendation for a group dinner. There's also a clean restroom inside the restaurant.

I was totally surprised the moment I walked in. When you hear "budget BBQ place," you picture tables jammed together, greasy slippery floors and a smoky haze, right?

But this place is really big and comfortable! The floor isn't sticky at all, and all the seats are soft sofas, so it's so comfy, haha. The clean restroom is inside too, so I recommend it for group dinners.

À la carte pork belly and pork neck instead of a set: how much?

At Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch, pork belly and pork neck à la carte cost ₩5,490 per 100g. The first order starts at 500g, and extra orders come in 200g portions. People say the set menus are popular, but you can order à la carte too.

I hear most people who come here order a set menu, but personally I'm not a big fan of hangjeongsal (pork jowl) 😭 so I boldly skipped the set and had just pork belly and pork neck à la carte. ₩5,490 per 100g!! You have to admit that's good value, right?

But guys... the quality of the pork belly here is seriously crazy..

The meat is finely scored, and grilled on a high-heat grill it came out properly crispy outside and juicy inside. It was so good that I ordered extra pork belly twice, lol.

Is the ₩5,000 self-bar fee per person or per table?

The self-bar fee at Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch is ₩5,000 per table, not per person, and it's a required order. Once you see the quality of the self-bar, you'll totally get why.

You can help yourself without limit to pricey angelica leaves, bracken, bean sprouts, corn salad and dried radish strips‼️ The ingredients are really fresh and well kept.

Pot rice for 2 (₩4,000)

Pot rice for 2 is ₩4,000 and takes about 10 minutes after ordering, so I recommend ordering it at the same time as your meat! This place is a rice destination too... the rice is really sweet!

Put a piece of meat on glossy rice, top it with wasabi, and it tastes like heaven 😭

Doenjang stew (₩4,000)

The doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) is ₩4,000, packed with vegetables and meat, with a rich broth. It has its own separate burner beside the table, so you can keep it piping hot to the end.

Save room for dessert

On your way out, there's a soft-serve ice cream machine and a coffee machine by the entrance! Washing down the greasy aftertaste with a rich, milky soft-serve cone makes it a perfect course, haha.

How much for 4 people? Honest review and would I return?

Four of us visited Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch, ordered loads of extra meat, and also had rice, stew and ice cream, and the bill came to about ₩60,000. In times like these, it's truly the king of value.

Honestly, the meat was so cheap that I was a little worried the quality might be poor or it might smell. But maybe because the aging is done so well, there was absolutely no gamey smell. It was delicious and the seats were comfortable, so it's a perfect restaurant to bring family to.

If you're looking for a place near Sanbon Station that nails value, taste and atmosphere, definitely run over there!!
