Gwangalli yakiniku with oxtail doenjang stew in Busan: Bisyoku Gwangan

Bisyoku Gwangan Branch is a Korean beef yakiniku restaurant in Gwangalli, Suyeong, Busan, fitted out in a Tokyo-style interior. For a first wedding anniversary, we took the counter seats and ordered the Oishi Set — 300g of premium sirloin and 100g of prime loin (sang-ros) — which the staff grilled for us, then finished with a Korean beef doenjang stew holding a whole oxtail. As an anniversary date course, Bisyoku Gwangan delivered on both atmosphere and meat quality.

Pohang crab restaurant, bakdal snow crab set for 4 friends: Gallilli

Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a snow crab and raw fish restaurant in Jukdo Market, Pohang. On a trip with friends the writer ordered the bakdal snow crab 4-person set, which came with abalone porridge, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), sashimi and clam soup before the crab, then spicy fish stew and crab fried rice, plus an extra order of seafood ramyeon. The crab's meat yield and the full spread of side courses both satisfied.
