Cheongdam Hwaro (청담화로) is a new charcoal-grill restaurant on Beobwon-ro in Munjeong-dong, Songpa, Seoul, specializing in special cuts of hanwoo (Korean beef). The blogger ordered the Signature Assorted Set for 2 (500g) with brisket, short rib meat, skirt steak and tenderloin, then added a half portion of beef short rib meat (300g), and found both the charcoal heat and the marbling satisfying. Cheongdam Hwaro is worth recommending for hanwoo at a reasonable price near Munjeong Station.

Bangi-dong izakaya: beginner gopchang hot pot & egg risotto, Horanggul

Horanggul Bangi Branch (호랑이굴 방이점) is an izakaya in the Bangi-dong food alley in Songpa, Seoul, specializing in red-broth motsunabe (beef gopchang and daechang offal hot pot). The writer, who doesn't usually enjoy gopchang, came for a second round of drinks and ordered the beef gopchang hot pot, egg okonomiyaki, the owner-recommended egg risotto and yuzu beer. The deep, spicy broth had no gamey smell and came loaded with tofu, fried tofu, fish cake and vegetables, so even a gopchang beginner ate it happily. Horanggul Bangi Branch nails both food and atmosphere, making it a strong pick for a second round, a date or a team dinner in Bangi-dong.

Gangnam Station wax salon, Brazilian + pigment milk pack: Super Waxing

Super Waxing Gangnam is a waxing salon at the entrance to the Gangnam Station area on Teheran-ro 1-gil in Seoul, and it uses Lycon's Pinkini premium low-pain wax line. After work, the writer booked the event package of a Brazilian wax plus a bikini-line pigmentation milk pack; despite skin prone to ingrown hairs, the wax caused almost no pain, and the ingrown care and aftercare explanations were thorough. Valley Korean BBQ in Namyangju for a nephew's birthday: 2002 Witch's

2002 Witch's Arpeggio (2002 마녀의 아르페지오) is a Korean BBQ restaurant beside Myojeoksa Valley in Wabu-eup, Namyangju, serving pork belly marinated in a tomato sauce aged for 48 hours in earthenware jars. A family of 5 visited on a weekend during the nephew's birthday week, waited behind 11 teams, and ate cheese tomato-sauce pork belly, tomato kimchi, potato pancake and pollock roe fried rice. 2002 Witch's Arpeggio is worth it: order the cheese version with kids, and on weekends arrive at opening or join the Catch Table remote queue.

Gangnam jazz bar with a coworker: summer dinner course, Flat Nine

Flat Nine (플랫나인) is a jazz and dining bar on the 5th floor of a building between Sinnonhyeon Station and Gangnam Station in Seoul. The writer and a coworker had the Classic Course for two (₩78,000) on a weekday evening, plus the ₩15,000-per-person show fee (₩108,000 in total), with a live set by the LAZYKUMA Quartet. The summer Korean melon and squid carpaccio, mille-feuille basil tomato lasagna and Jeju black pork tenderloin steak stood out. Flat Nine is a satisfying pick for dates, special occasions and anyone who loves live music.
