Duck potato stew and shrimp pancake at Gongjung Dodeok, Mapo Seoul
Gongjung Dodeok is a duck restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Daeheung Station on Line 6, along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park toward Gongdeok Station. The meal ran from gonggamtang (duck gamjatang, a duck and potato stew) to a full platter of duck roast, duck jumulleok, minari (water dropwort) and potatoes, plus a minari pancake scattered with barley shrimp, and staff kept flipping the meat throughout. Portions at Gongjung Dodeok are so generous that there was no room left for the finishing fried rice.
