Gopchang grill near Daerim Station: mixed set and beef heart, Gimga-ne

Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch is a gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant in Guro, Seoul, a 3-minute walk from Daerim Station and in business for more than 15 years. On a stop after work, a 5-year regular ordered 2 servings of mixed gopchang and added 1 serving of beef heart; the heart, gopchang, makchang and daechang were all chewy, and the sauces kept them from feeling greasy. For a gopchang meal near Daerim Station, the regular's pick at Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui is mixed gopchang for 2 plus extra beef heart.

Sindang, Seoul chicken restaurant for a pre-show dinner: Gyeryugwan

Gyeryugwan (계류관) is an oak wood-fired chicken restaurant specialising in neungi mushroom chicken, a 1-minute walk from Sindang Station Exit 2 at the entrance to Jungang Market in Sindang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul. Before a show at Chungmu Art Center, two diners ordered the oak-fired neungi mushroom chicken, chicken gizzard and scallion fritters, and mul-makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles in broth), and the oak-fired chicken alone was generous enough to fill two people, so food was left over. Gyeryugwan is a popular spot with regular waits, so arrive just before the weekday dinner rush or book through Naver.
