Chowon Restaurant Jongno 3-ga Branch is on the 1st floor of 30 Jongno 17-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It's open daily from 17:00 to 1 AM.

Why this Jongno 3-ga terrace stays quiet enough to talk

The famous main street around Jongno gets so crowded and loud that it's sometimes hard to even have a conversation. I was wondering where I could find somewhere with that same romantic yajang vibe but without all the noise.

You still get all the romance and atmosphere of an outdoor BBQ, but without the loud noise, so I could comfortably chat with the person I came with. Totally satisfied!!!

If you want to enjoy a yajang comfortably without getting jostled by crowds, this place is a perfect match. There's no remote waitlist, but walk-in waiting is available.

Chowon Restaurant Jongno 3-ga Branch has both pork and beef dishes on the menu.

We took a seat and ordered the signature menu here, the Korean beef and pork belly set (₩53,000).

The kimchi side dish was really good haha. The bracken fern was great grilled too. For extras, you just use the self-serve corner.

We started with the sliced beef brisket. Grilling it on the heated plate, with the outdoor breeze and the smell of the meat cooking — it was already so exciting 💕

Of course, cold soju is a must when eating good grilled meat! Sipping a cool glass of soju with golden pork belly, cooled by the evening breeze — pure healing 🥰

I grilled kimchi, bean sprouts, and bracken fern together with the meat fat on the plate ✌🏻

With the bright lighting added in, it turned into a really atmospheric yajang setting!🤍

Maybe because the pork belly was thinly sliced, it cooked really quickly.

Is Chowon Restaurant worth it for terrace Korean BBQ in Jongno 3-ga?

It wasn't crowded or noisy like the main street near Jongno 3-ga Station, so it was the best terrace BBQ spot to enjoy a nice atmosphere while actually being able to talk. If you're looking for a great place near Jongno to have a good drink in the cool breeze, I strongly recommend visiting Chowon Restaurant Jongno 3-ga Branch, which has both romance and great food.
