Kid-friendly Damyang café: castella cream croissant, Frank Coffin Bar
In short
Frank Coffin Bar Damyang is a European-style bakery café inside Meta Provence in Damyang, Jeonnam. On day two of a Damyang trip with a 6-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son, the family rested at a window seat over Frank Coffee (6,000 won), an iced Americano (5,000 won), a castella cream croissant (5,400 won) and a Mont Blanc (4,500 won). With wide spacing between seats and pastries the kids happily ate, Frank Coffin Bar Damyang is a good rest stop on a family trip with children.

On day two of our Damyang trip, we stopped to take a little break at Frank Coffin Bar Damyang (프랭크커핀바 담양점), inside Meta Provence.

When you travel with kids, you want a coffee yourself, but you also need a dessert the kids can eat~~

It's inside Meta Provence, so it's easy to get to, and the atmosphere is pretty too, which made it a perfect stop during a family trip 🧡

We went with our 6-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son!
What are the exterior and atmosphere of Frank Coffin Bar Damyang like?
Frank Coffin Bar Damyang is a café in a deep brown, European-feeling building with big windows and outdoor terrace seating. The exterior caught my eye right away~~

It looks pretty in the daytime, and even more atmospheric at night 🤩 In daylight it suited Meta Provence's relaxed vibe, and at night the lights come on and give it a whole different feel 💡
Vintage wood-tone interior
Inside, the warm wood-tone interior greeted us!! There was big solid-wood furniture, classic lighting and even vintage speakers 🤎 It felt like walking into an old European café 👍🏻!!
The mood is calm overall, great for a short rest on a trip, and I especially loved the window seats 🤩

Sunlight pours in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, so it's lovely for sipping coffee, and photos come out really pretty too!

The kids sat there for ages watching the view outside, haha
What we ordered at Frank Coffin Bar Damyang, and the prices
- Frank Coffee ₩6,000
- Iced Americano ₩5,000
- Castella cream croissant ₩5,400
- Mont Blanc ₩4,500

The bakery selection was more varied than I expected, and the croissant-type pastries really stood out!!

Every single bread in the display case looked so good that it was hard to choose,, (T_T)
Frank Coffee and iced Americano
The iced Americano was clean and not very acidic!

It was a refreshing coffee, just right for a hot day after lots of walking 🥤
Frank Coffee blends smooth milk with coffee, and it even had cute latte art on top, so it was fun to look at! At the first sip I tasted the bitterness of the coffee, but soon the sweetness of the latte cream on top wrapped around it softly, and the balance was really good 🤎🧡
It's the kind of drink you keep reaching for! ☕✨ It went well with the bread 👍🏻
You have to try the castella cream croissant
My personal favorite at Frank Coffin Bar Damyang was the castella cream croissant (₩5,400), haha

It's a croissant that's crispy outside with its layers intact, and it's packed with cream inside~~🥐🧁 It's topped with plenty of castella (Japanese-style sponge cake) crumbs, which add a soft texture.
The cream isn't overly sweet, so it was easy to eat, and it went really well with the coffee!!

As soon as they took a bite, the kids said it was delicious and kept asking for more, haha. The cross-section showed quite a lot of cream inside, which I was happy about 🤍
The Mont Blanc was a kid favorite too
The Mont Blanc (₩4,500) at Frank Coffin Bar Damyang was a pastry-style bread with its layers intact!

It was crispy outside and moist inside, with a subtle buttery flavor~~💗 My kids ate it really well, haha

My eldest, who usually loves crispy bread, ate it well, and watching the little one dig in with a fork was so cute 🤭
If you're visiting with kids!! I recommend ordering at least one bakery item 🥐⭐️
Why Frank Coffin Bar Damyang is good for families with kids
What I liked most about Frank Coffin Bar Damyang was the wide spacing between seats and the relaxed atmosphere! Sitting with two kids wasn't a hassle at all, and the window seats get great light, so they're good for photos too, haha 📸
We sat at a window seat and enjoyed a cup of coffee, and I think it was the most relaxed time of our whole trip~~🧡
