Yangsan Western restaurant with kids: abalone cream risotto, Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Restaurant Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is a European-style Western restaurant and yes-kids zone on basement level 1 of Building BL at Oslo Park in Mulgeum-eup, Yangsan, Gyeongnam. Visiting with a child, the writer ordered abalone cream risotto, shrimp rosé pasta and napa cabbage Caesar salad. The shrimp rosé pasta was spicier than expected and hard for the child to eat, but the child happily ate the abalone cream risotto, made with finely chopped abalone. For families with kids, the abalone cream risotto is the dish to order for the child at Bueokgan Restaurant.

If you're looking for a European-style restaurant with a great atmosphere at Oslo Park in Yangsan, Bueokgan Restaurant Yangsan Oslo Park Branch (부엌간레스토랑 양산오슬로파크점) is well worth a visit. The interior is gorgeous, and it's a yes-kids zone, so I'd recommend it for family meals, dates and get-togethers alike. This time I had the abalone cream risotto, shrimp rosé pasta and napa cabbage Caesar salad, and the quality of every dish left me really satisfied, so let me share the review (ง •_•)ง
Bueokgan Yangsan Oslo Park: location, hours and parking
Bueokgan Restaurant Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is at 14 Beomgu-ro, Mulgeum-eup, Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam, South Korea, in Oslo Park Building BL, basement level 1, units 1-2. It's open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a weekday break time of 15:00-16:30 and last order at 20:30.😃
Come in toward Oslo Park's main plaza and you'll see the Bueokgan European restaurant right away, so it wasn't hard to find. For parking, use Oslo Park's own parking lot; after your meal, just tell the counter your car number and it's easy (❁´◡`❁) Good to know before you go😃

What is the interior of Bueokgan Yangsan like?
The space was designed with inspiration from the Nationalmuseum, Sweden's national museum of art, so it has high ceilings and soft arched structures. The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the stunning interior. Vintage furniture and all kinds of objects selected on location in England, France, Italy and elsewhere in Europe blend together naturally, so it feels like you're on a trip to Europe😎
Is it a yes-kids zone that's fine to visit with a child?
Bueokgan Yangsan is a yes-kids zone, and kids' chairs and kids' tableware were all ready. The space and the way you move through it are carefully designed so families can eat comfortably too. Lots of families with kids were there, and I could see why there are so many reviews saying "my kid eats well at Bueokgan"👍
My child loved the colorful, stylish space and the food was delicious too, so to give you the conclusion first: it's a place I really want to come back to! haha

Bueokgan's menu and steady sellers
The menu at Bueokgan Yangsan Oslo Park covers everything from salads to pasta, risotto, gnocchi, pizza and steak, so it's easy to pick something to your taste. There are also light starters like pastry soup, sweet potato fries, napa cabbage Caesar salad and grilled mushroom salad, which are good to order before the main dishes.
The mains have a wide range: lasagna loaded with cheese, savory abalone cream risotto, gnocchi, kung pao chicken pilaf and Bueokgan Korean beef steak, among others. The pasta list is varied too: carbonara, oil pasta, vongole pasta, basil pesto cream pasta, shrimp rosé pasta and seafood tomato pasta. There are five pizzas in total: basil margherita, pepperoni, arugula prosciutto, jambon (Korean-style ham) and truffle mushroom, so a bigger group could order pizza and pasta together and share.
👉These are the steady sellers that visitors keep loving, so if it's your first visit, I'd suggest ordering mainly from this list✨
- Napa cabbage Caesar salad
- Truffle gnocchi
- Kung pao chicken pilaf
- Jambon pizza
- Bueokgan steak
Is wine corkage free?
Corkage at Bueokgan Yangsan is free for up to 3 bottles of wine, and from the 4th bottle you only add ₩15,000 per bottle. There are plenty of drinks and beer too, but this free corkage was another thing I liked. They say they aim for a healthy wine culture. I thought it would be a really good place to bring your favorite wine and have a nice meal😁

What I ordered this time
There were so many dishes I wanted to eat, so after much agonizing, this is what I ordered.
- Abalone cream risotto
- Shrimp rosé pasta
- Napa cabbage Caesar salad

How is the napa cabbage Caesar salad?
Bueokgan's napa cabbage Caesar salad is grilled napa cabbage topped with a poached egg, sun-dried tomatoes, bacon chips, dried onion flakes, Caesar dressing and loads of cheese. It came out first, and the gentle sweetness of the grilled cabbage really comes through, with the savoriness of the bacon, the onion flakes, the Caesar dressing and the cheese all blending well, so it was a very satisfying starter. Even though it's a salad, it's filling and the kind of taste you keep reaching for🤍

And here come the shrimp rosé pasta and abalone cream risotto that arrived next💗

The dish for kids: abalone cream risotto
The abalone cream risotto was the best dish of this Bueokgan meal (for me, this one is the best!). The cream is really rich and savory without being heavy, and the umami of the abalone melts in naturally, so the flavor was deep. The abalone is chopped very finely, so even my child, who doesn't like abalone, ate it really well without any resistance, and there was no fishy taste at all.

I had originally ordered the pasta to share with my child, but it was spicier than I expected and I totally panicked;; haha Luckily the abalone cream risotto saved the day. Highly recommended as a kids' dish too👍👍

Is the shrimp rosé pasta too spicy for kids?
Bueokgan's shrimp rosé pasta has a slightly spicy finish, so it can be a bit hot for a child; please keep that in mind. The thick, rich rosé sauce coated the noodles well for a smooth, deep flavor, and the shrimp were plump and big with a nice chew, fresh with no fishy smell at all💓 (For an adult, the spiciness cuts the richness, so it actually tasted even better.)

Eating the abalone cream risotto, shrimp rosé pasta and napa cabbage Caesar salad all together was so good🤍 The pickles served alongside were clean and not harsh, so they were fine for eating with a child too. Next time I want to try three steady sellers: truffle gnocchi, kung pao chicken pilaf and jambon pizza (I've already picked my next order, haha)

Is Bueokgan Yangsan Oslo Park worth going back to?
Cleared the plates ヽ(✿゚▽゚)ノ! Bueokgan Restaurant Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is a great space to visit with a child, and I'd also recommend it for get-togethers with friends or a date. The interior full of European charm and the well-made food gave me the feeling of having a nice meal in Europe. Atmosphere, taste and service were all satisfying at this Western restaurant in Yangsan, Gyeongnam🤍
