Grilled intestines restaurant in Gangseo: Pujim Gopchang platter

In short

Pujim Gopchang Magoknaru Branch is a grilled intestines restaurant near Magoknaru Station in Gangseo, Seoul. A friend and I shared the ₩59,000 Pujim Half Platter with five cuts and a mini gopchang hot pot, then left a little of the added fried rice. How close is it to Magoknaru Station?

While looking for somewhere to have dinner and a drink with a friend, I visited Pujim Gopchang Magoknaru Branch (푸짐곱창 마곡나루점). The address is 1F, Unit 103, Building C, 161-8 Magokjungang-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, about 250 m from Exit 2 of Magoknaru Station. The hours listed in the original post are 16:00–23:00.

How much is the Pujim Half Platter, and what does it include?

The two of us ordered the Pujim Half Platter. It costs ₩59,000 and includes gopchang (beef small intestine), teukyang (beef tripe), makchang (large intestine), daechang (beef large intestine), yeomtong (beef heart), and a mini gopchang hot pot. We chose the assortment because we wanted to try a little of several cuts.

The half platter is presented as a good choice for two to three people, and it felt quite filling for the two of us once we had the hot pot as well. I also liked that my friend and I could each choose the cuts we preferred.

How were the gopchang and the hot pot?

I am sensitive to any unpleasant odor in gopchang, but I barely noticed one that day. The gopchang was rich, and having other cuts such as makchang and daechang alongside it went well with soju.

What I remember most was the mini gopchang hot pot that came with it. I expected just a small taster of broth, but it had a fair amount of gopchang in it too. Its pleasantly spicy broth cut through the richness between bites of grilled meat, so I remember the hot pot as much as the grill that day.

Is it too much for two with fried rice?

We were already fairly full after the platter and hot pot, but we added fried rice to finish. It came with plenty of cheese on top, and the portion of fried rice was generous too.

In the end, we were both full and left a little of the fried rice. If you are visiting as a pair and considering fried rice too, it would be best to see how full you are after the platter and hot pot before adding it.

What kind of dinner gathering does the atmosphere suit?

When I visited, it was bustling and had the feel of an old-school restaurant. I like eating gopchang in this kind of setting, so I felt comfortable there. It seemed better suited to an evening of drinks with friends than to a quiet date restaurant.

I liked being able to eat several grilled cuts and a pleasantly spicy hot pot in one meal. It was a filling spread for dinner and a drink with a friend.
