Looking for a clean, good-value local-style restaurant near Sinchon Station, I found a solid pick 🏃♀️ Plenty of students but also regulars chatting with the local staff — it had that real hidden-gem vibe.

Here's my detailed review of Sammi Tantanmyeon Sinchon, where the spicy tantanmyeon and juicy xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) made a great combo 👇👇
Where is Sammi Tantanmyeon Sinchon, and what does it look like?

Can you eat alone? Inside Sammi Tantanmyeon and its bar seats
Inside Sammi Tantanmyeon Sinchon, the space is filled generously and neatly with regular tables ✨ The tables are well-spaced, making it comfortable to eat with company.

With a layout that's comfortable for solo diners slurping their noodles alone, it seemed popular with nearby university students and solo eaters.
The space isn't huge, but it's used well — I never felt cramped, just a pleasant place to eat.
Sammi Tantanmyeon menu and what to order together
True to the restaurant's name, tantanmyeon is the main event on the menu, alongside noodle dishes like chaumyeon and a solid dumpling lineup 📖 Wanting to try a variety, we ordered generously: chashu tantanmyeon, seafood chaumyeon, and xiaolongbao on the side 💸

How does the seafood chaumyeon taste?
First out was the seafood chaumyeon, a glossy stir-fried noodle dish with a salty, savory aroma that hit the nose 🍜 Not too spicy or harsh, with deep umami — even people who can't handle spice could clean the plate.

It's generously loaded with seafood — chewy squid and plump shrimp — and the vegetables were stir-fried to just the right crunch 🦑

The noodles are medium-thick — not too thin, not too thick — and they went down so smoothly.
Picking up a big bite of seafood chaumyeon with chopsticks for a close-up, the combo of plump shrimp and noodles was excellent ✨ The vegetables were cooked to just the right crunch, and the balance with each bite of noodles was amazing.
The signature chashu tantanmyeon (spicy sesame noodles)
Next came the restaurant's signature chashu tantanmyeon, arriving with a bright red broth piled high with meat toppings and chashu 🌶️ Taking a first sip of the broth, a slight tingle of spice hit the tip of my tongue, followed by a deep, savory richness 👍

Like the chaumyeon, the tantanmyeon also uses medium noodles, so the rich broth soaked well between every strand 🍜
The broth clung to the noodles perfectly rather than sitting separately, so I could really enjoy the savory, spicy flavor.

There were two generous slices of chashu on top, incredibly tender and soft 🥩 The chashu was so good I wanted to pay extra for a big refill, but that option wasn't on the menu — a bit of a bummer ㅜㅜ
Six freshly steamed xiaolongbao and how to eat them
About halfway through the noodles, six freshly steamed xiaolongbao arrived right on time, still steaming in their steamer basket 🥟 The skin was very thin, and you could see the juicy meat broth sloshing inside — my mouth was watering already haha.

Biting straight into xiaolongbao can scald your tongue, so the standard move is to set it on a spoon and poke a small hole with chopsticks first 🥢
Sip the rich meat broth that flows out through the hole first, and a deep, savory meat aroma fills your mouth.

After poking a hole, blowing on it to cool slightly, adding a touch of soy sauce, and popping the whole thing in — so good 😋 Alternating a spicy, savory bite of tantanmyeon with a juicy xiaolongbao was an unstoppable, perfect combo 👍
Final verdict on Sammi Tantanmyeon Sinchon
Chashu tantanmyeon soaked in a spicy, savory broth 🍜 A bite of xiaolongbao, a bite of tantanmyeon — highly recommend!
It was a satisfying meal near Sinchon Station, enjoying local-style noodles and dim sum in a comfortable setting 👍 The spicy savory tantanmyeon, the umami of the seafood chaumyeon, and the juicy xiaolongbao made for a fantastic combination.
If you're looking for a Sinchon restaurant that's comfortable for solo dining and also great for sharing dishes with a friend, I recommend Sammi Tantanmyeon 👋
