Thin-sliced pork belly for ₩4,900 in this economy… is that even possible? Hahaha. I’m serious when it comes to meat, so I had to go see for myself 🥩

This time, I visited Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch (대패마켙 강남논현점) near Nonhyeon Station. To give you the conclusion first: from the prices and meat to the self-bar, I was happy with everything overall, haha. If you’re looking for a good-value meat restaurant, this is one to remember!

A 24-hour meat restaurant near Nonhyeon Station
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is about 130 m from Exit 3 of Nonhyeon Station, so you can get there in around three minutes on foot. It is near the entrance to the Yeongdong Market food alley, so it was easy enough to find. It is also walkable from Sinnonhyeon Station, which makes it quite accessible.
Best of all, it is open from 00:00 to 24:00, so it runs 24 hours a day. Handy when you’re looking for a good restaurant in Gangnam that stays open late, right? You know those nights when you suddenly crave meat late at night… hahaha. This feels like the kind of place that would come to mind then.
A spacious interior and self-bar
Once I stepped inside, it was much bigger than I expected. There were plenty of tables and the spacing did not feel cramped, so it looked great for visiting with a group.
Groups are welcome, and pets are allowed too, so keep that in mind ✨

Ordering thin-sliced pork belly and beef belly
Then it was time to order meat! I ordered daepae samgyeopsal (thin-sliced pork belly) and wusamgyeop (thin-sliced beef belly): the pork was just ₩4,900 and the beef was ₩6,900. Considering meat restaurant prices these days, that really is an easy price point. Seriously.

Another thing I loved was that they sliced the meat straight away with a meat slicer after you order. Because it came out freshly sliced, it felt fresh, and since it was cut thinly, it cooked in no time once it hit the grill.

From bean sprouts, bracken fern, and minari (water celery) to all kinds of vegetables and kimchi, there was plenty prepared for you to take as much as you wanted.
I loaded up on all sorts of things to eat with the meat, haha. In particular, putting pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi) on top of the meat was such a great combination… I totally approve 👍🏻

What we ordered and the total
- Thin-sliced pork belly (100 g) × 3: ₩14,700
- Icy water naengmyeon: ₩8,000
- Sundubu jjageuli: ₩8,000
- Kelly beer: ₩6,000
- Thin-sliced pork belly (100 g): ₩6,900
- Self-bar ₩2,000 × 2
- Total: ₩47,600

The thin-sliced pork belly was nutty and easy to keep eating, while the beef belly had its own rich, savory nuttiness, so alternating between them never got boring. My chopsticks seriously did not get a break, hahaha.

Being able to pile on vegetables while eating the meat made it feel even more satisfying for the price.

Sundubu jjageuli and water naengmyeon too
I could not just pass up the side dishes, so I ordered sundubu jjageuli (spicy soft tofu stew) and naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) too. One bite of the cold noodles and it felt like my palate was completely refreshed! 🥢

The sundubu jjageuli looked delicious from the start, so I tried a spoonful—and, as expected, I could not stop. In the end, I scraped the bowl completely clean, haha.
Beef belly, ₩6,900

The beef belly was seriously delicious~~

In the end, I really had my fill of everything—from the meat and self-bar to the sundubu jjageuli and cold noodles, hahaha.

Overall, Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch offered good value, with reasonably priced meat, freshly sliced meat served right away, and a generous self-bar. I especially liked that I could visit late at night, and it would be a great place to go with friends or a larger group and order a variety of dishes.

If you are looking for a good-value meat restaurant around Gangnam or Nonhyeon Station, it is worth a visit 😊 Next time, I should go back to try other thin-sliced meat options too, haha.
