Flowerpot, a bakery café in Gojan-dong, Ansan: lots of kinds of bread, and the prices are low!

My daughter and I went to a kids' café in Ansan, and before heading home I needed a coffee fix and she wanted bread, so we stopped at a bakery café in Gojan-dong, Ansan. It was Flowerpot (플라워팟) in Gojan-dong. I'd been once before and the bread was really easy on the wallet and tasty!!

Flowerpot Cafe: location, hours and parking

Flowerpot Cafe is in the Geumbada Building at 164-12 Gwangdeok 2-ro, Danwon-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi. It's open 10:00–21:45 on weekdays and 09:30–21:45 on weekends. The building has no parking lot of its own, but there's a big public lot right in front, so parking isn't a money worry!

I went on a weekend and the street-side public parking was free, so I parked without paying, haha

Is there a seat on weekends?

On weekends it's right next to the AW wedding hall, so lots of wedding guests come and the place is always full, haha. Luckily, while I was picking out bread, my daughter quickly grabbed a table.. hahaha. Thanks to her, I'd been wondering whether to get my coffee and bread to go, but we managed to eat in!! haha

Flowerpot Cafe drink menu and prices

There's a really wide range of drinks, and compared with the big bakery cafés the prices weren't a burden. The drinks aren't cheap, just average?! I ordered an iced vanilla latte.

Now, the most important part: the breads and their prices, right?! The bread here is really good and cheap!!!

Flowerpot Cafe bread types and prices: how cheap is it?

The bread is displayed in the middle of the shop, and there's a really, really wide variety: European meal breads, pies, cream buns, sandwiches, and baked sweets like scones!

You can see plenty of basic meal breads too: sandwich loaf, salt bread, mont blanc, red bean buns, croissants and more. A big mont blanc these days runs ₩8,000–9,000, but at Flowerpot it's ₩6,500, and the basic salt bread is ₩2,900, much cheaper than salt bread at the big bakery cafés, right?!?!

Healthy breads that are good for kids

Flowerpot sells handmade bread baked fresh every morning, and there are lots of healthy breads that are really good to eat with a child. Multigrain breads, chestnut bread, nurungji (scorched rice) bread and more: plain yet sweet and crispy, and kids love them, haha.

₩7,000 sandwiches, individually wrapped bread and the self-service packing counter

There's also lots of individually wrapped bread that's good for gifts, and the sandwiches look super hearty, right?! The chicken breast sandwich and the egg sandwich are packed with filling like that, and they're only ₩7,000, haha. Among bakery cafés in Ansan, the friendly prices here are what I love.

Inside there's a microwave, and a self-service packing counter, so you can easily box up any leftover bread to take home.

What I ate at Flowerpot Cafe and the bread I took home

Nurungji bread and vanilla latte at Flowerpot Cafe

That day I ate nurungji bread and a vanilla latte in the shop, and took home a sweet red bean butter salt bread, a bread café latte, a red bean bun and a chicken breast sandwich!

Vanilla latte: coffee that stays strong as the ice melts

I keep saying the bread is good, but the coffee here is good too! It's really rich and sweet. These days some big bakery cafés are pricey and watery and not very good, but here the coffee is really strong and tasty, so even when the ice melted a bit it didn't get watery.

How was the nurungji bread my 5-year-old picked?

The nurungji bread my 5-year-old picked herself is super moist even as plain bread, and on top there's lots of crispy, sweet nurungji crunch, so it's yummy! I didn't expect much, but it was surprisingly sweet and crispy and so good.

By the way, there's a review event going on, so I also got a free pretzel meringue cookie, haha. Flowerpot, the bakery café in Gojan-dong, Ansan, has a really wide range of bread and great value, so I totally recommend it to bread lovers like me! haha
