Hongdae Pyeongyang naengmyeon lunch 7 minutes from the station: Anok
Anok is a hanok (traditional Korean house) restaurant down an alley about a 7-minute walk from Hongik University Station in Mapo, Seoul. Over lunch with her parents, the writer ordered Pyeongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), gomtang (clear beef bone soup) and braised pork tail: the broth was mild and clean rather than salty, and the meat was tender with no gamy smell. With wide spacing between tables that makes conversation easy, Anok is a comfortable choice for a meal with older family members.
