Hongje hair salon fixing bangs missed in volume magic: Blooming Day
In short
Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch is a reservation-only hair salon in Seodaemun, Seoul, a 1-minute walk from Exit 2 of Hongje Station. A week after a full volume magic (Korean straightening perm) that left out her bangs, the writer had only her bangs done by designer Gureum for ₩25,000, added a shampoo and a bangs trim, and was finished in about 1 hour 30 minutes. The bangs volume magic at Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch reduced the frizz and blended the bangs with the rest of her hair, a satisfying result.

A week ago, right before a long holiday, I had volume magic (a Korean smoothing perm) done, but my bangs were the one part I skipped.. It kept bugging me, so I went to designer Gureum at Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch for a bangs-only volume magic. Here's my review 🥹
How close is Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch to Hongje Station?

Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch is a hair salon you can reach in a 1-minute walk from Exit 2 of Hongje Station. I'd booked ahead on Naver, missed the subway I meant to catch, and still got there almost right on time. See, this is what being close to the station gets you.. 💝

Inside Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch and how booking works
The inside of Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch is quite spacious, with waiting seats and even a self-bar zone, so waiting was comfortable.

The salon runs on reservations, and it also notes that weekend treatments can take longer than on weekdays, so there may be some delay.

There's a price board where you can see all the treatment prices at a glance, which is handy to check. They also state that any treatment can only be redone if you visit within a week!

As soon as I arrived I left my things in the locker room, had a quick consultation, and went straight into the bangs volume magic! I'd booked designer Gureum.

They offered me a drink, so I picked chamomile tea ✔️ You can also charge your phone during the treatment, which was really convenient ❤️🔥
Why I did bangs-only volume magic after a full volume magic
Before. My hair isn't very curly, but ㅠㅠ when I had the full volume magic a week ago, I left out only the bangs, and every time I looked in the mirror my bangs felt totally separate from the rest of my hair 🥲 It kept nagging at me, so I decided to get the bangs done on their own! Just in case, I told designer Gureum about this situation during the consultation, haha.

Bangs volume magic price and time at Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch
My treatment at Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch was bangs volume magic ₩25,000, added shampoo ₩5,000 and a bangs trim ₩5,000, and it took about 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Bangs volume magic ₩25,000
- Added shampoo ₩5,000
- Bangs trim ₩5,000
- Time: about 1 hour 30 minutes
Bangs-only volume magic was a first for me (!), and prices at Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch are reasonable overall, so even though I went on a weekday, customers kept coming in, haha. A great-value Hongje hair salon, recommended 💓 It's only the bangs, but I figured I couldn't skip the shampoo, so I added it, and I decided to have the bangs length tidied up a bit after checking how they looked post-treatment.
How does bangs volume magic go, step by step?

Bangs volume magic starts with applying the solution first. It was my first time doing only the bangs, and after hearing my situation, designer Gureum said that for women, bangs have a big effect on the first impression of the face, so it's a part you can't help worrying about. Next time I do volume magic, I'll do everything, bangs included.. 🥹🥹
After the solution has been applied twice, the hair gets rinsed. Designer Gureum was so careful and gentle 👍

I planned to add a shampoo, so I deliberately skipped washing my hair that morning. She even gave me a wonderfully refreshing scalp massage as a freebie, which I really loved 💛
After the solution was rinsed out cleanly, she gently dried my hair, then

carefully straightened it with a flat iron. Instead of pressing the bangs straight down, she added volume so they fall in a slight curve.
This is how the bangs looked after being straightened with volume, haha. Maybe because it's my own hair, but it looked cute to me.

Finally, she wound the bangs on rollers for the neutralizing step, then rinsed, and that's it, done!
How did the bangs volume magic turn out?
After.

After finishing the bangs volume magic at Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch, my bangs were clearly calmer, most of the curl was gone, and they felt similar to the texture of the rest of my hair.. 💞 Designer Gureum took so much care and did a great job!! I also had the bangs length tidied up a little. My hair grows fast, so I asked her to cut them a bit short, to about eyebrow level. She cut them exactly to the length I wanted!!!!

Same-day care and advice for the next volume magic
Designer Gureum told me that on the day of the bangs volume magic, I shouldn't bend the roots of my bangs and should keep them from getting wet with sweat or water. I was even going for an esthetic (facial) treatment that afternoon, so I asked her what to do with the bangs ^^;; She kindly recommended avoiding bending the bangs at the root as much as possible and just sweeping them naturally to the side for the esthetic session. She also didn't forget to remind me to keep them away from sweat and water that day, haha.

She also told me that if I want volume magic again after about 6 months, I should do just the roots (root magic). Designer Gureum answered every question I had kindly and was generous with advice about future hair treatments too, the best 💗 I recommend Blooming Day Hongje Station Branch, a Hongje Station hair salon!
