Why did I come back to Hodukkakki Brothers Bangbae branch?
Hodukkakki Brothers Bangbae branch (호두까끼형제 방배점) is a handmade pie shop near Naebang Station. I loved the pies at the Yangjae branch and kept thinking about them, so this time I brought my family to the Bangbae branch. Is there a pie shop you try once and then keep going back to? For me, it's Hodukkakki Brothers.
Delicious desserts are nice on your own, but sharing them with family doubles the happiness. If you're looking for a dessert spot in Bangbae, I really want to recommend this place~!
- Location: 21-1 Seocho-daero 27-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul, JL Building, Unit 101, 1st floor

- Hours: weekdays 10:30–20:00, weekends 10:30–19:30

What are the atmosphere and seating like?
The shop sits in a quiet alley, and I loved the mood right from the start! It has a relaxed feel, nothing like the bustle of a busy street, so it's a great place to rest with a cup of coffee. The exterior was cute and warm, and the inside was just as cozy.

There are 2 tables inside, so you can take your pies away or eat them right there. It's not a big space, but the small size makes it comfortable, and it made me want to stay longer.
What should you order on a first visit? The assorted pie box
I wanted to try every flavor this time, so I ordered the assorted pie box (모듬파이). It includes walnut, pecan, macadamia and dark chocolate pies, which makes it a great choice for anyone visiting Hodukkakki Brothers for the first time.🩵

Walnut, pecan, macadamia and dark chocolate pie: how do they compare?
Walnut pie
The walnut pie was the first one I ate, and as the signature item it had a really rich nutty flavor. Big walnuts are packed in generously, so the texture stays chewy, and it isn't just a sugary dessert: you really taste the nuts themselves.
Pecan pie
The pecan pie was a little softer than the walnut one, with a gentle sweetness. The natural sweetness layered over the nutty flavor made it perfect with coffee.
Macadamia pie
Personally, the macadamia pie had the most memorable texture. The soft, nutty taste typical of macadamia blended well with the butter flavor, and I kept reaching for more.
Dark chocolate pie
The last one, the dark chocolate pie, had a deep chocolate flavor that chocolate lovers will enjoy. It wasn't too sweet and had the depth of real dark chocolate, so it was nice to alternate with the other pies.
Crust and filling
What I liked most about Hodukkakki Brothers pies was the crust. It was crisp with a subtle buttery aroma, and the filling was generous, so even one slice was very satisfying. It really felt like a handmade pie made without skimping on ingredients.

Which pie did the family like best when we shared the assorted box?
We shared the assorted pies one by one with the family, saying "This one's the best" and "I like this one more," and that was a lot of fun too. In the end we all agreed everything was delicious, and each pie had such a distinct charm that it was hard to pick just one.

Do I recommend Hodukkakki Brothers Bangbae branch as a Bangbae dessert spot?

I came back because of my good memories of the Yangjae branch, and the Bangbae branch was better than I expected too. I could really feel the charm of handmade pies made with good ingredients, and being with my family made it even more enjoyable.
