Yangyang Korean barbecue dinner: Yeoyejeong pork ribs and noodles

My husband and I stopped by Yeoyejeong while on a drive to Yangyang for dinner. We had originally planned to eat beef, but ordered three servings of fresh pork ribs instead; with Yeoyeong Naengmyeon as well, it was a filling meal for two.

Where is Yeoyejeong, and is parking convenient?

Yeoyejeong is at 강원특별자치도 양양군 서면 쌍솔배기길 49. The original post lists its hours as 11:30–21:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00. It also says the restaurant is closed every Tuesday, so please check the latest information before visiting.

Parking mattered because we were traveling by car, and the lot was fairly large, which made it convenient. We could go straight into the restaurant without spending extra time looking for a space.

Were there plenty of seats shortly after 5 PM?

We visited a little after 5 PM. There were plenty of empty tables then, so we could sit comfortably and choose from the menu at an unhurried pace.

By the time we were finishing our meal, guests kept arriving and the restaurant was almost full. Arriving for an early dinner meant we could start our meal at a relaxed pace.

What was there to look at inside the restaurant?

There were small decorative items throughout the restaurant, which made it fun to look around from time to time. There was also a lucky draw event, so I tried it after our meal.

What did we order, and how much did it cost?

We ordered three servings of fresh pork ribs and Yeoyeong Naengmyeon. The original post lists the following prices for each item.

What were the fresh pork ribs like for a first try?

It was my first time trying fresh pork ribs that day. If my husband had not changed the menu, I think we would have ordered beef.

It was enjoyable to put the fresh ribs on the grill and cook them ourselves. Once we began grilling, the smell of the meat rose up and made me even more curious about the taste.

I was a little disappointed at first because we had come for beef and changed our order. But once I tried the pork, it was better than I expected and that feeling quickly disappeared. We grilled the meat piece by piece, talked together, and enjoyed dinner slowly.

What was Yeoyeong Naengmyeon like after the meat?

The dish I remember most from that day was the ₩5,000 Yeoyeong Naengmyeon (cold noodles). We ordered it to finish after the meat, and it felt like it refreshed my palate.

We were already quite full after three servings of fresh ribs, but once I took a bite of the naengmyeon, I kept eating it. It is a dish I would want to order with the meat again on a future visit.

What was disappointing, and what would I try next time?

I was disappointed not to try the beef we had originally planned to eat. I considered adding just one serving, but we were too full from the fresh ribs and naengmyeon, so I gave up on it. Next time, I would like to try flower rib meat or salchisal (chuck flap tail).

How was it for dinner after a Yangyang drive?

It was an evening when I got to try fresh pork ribs that had not been part of the plan. It was a good way for the two of us to finish our drive while grilling meat together, and three servings of ribs with naengmyeon were more than filling enough.

I also liked being able to use the large parking lot comfortably. There was room during our early dinner, but it was nearly full when we left, so keep that in mind. Next time, I would like to try the beef and order Yeoyeong Naengmyeon again.
