Cleansing balm for dehydrated oily skin: HEEDA Jirisan Charcoal
In short
I used HEEDA Jirisan Moisturizing Charcoal Cleansing Balm in my evening routine for oily-but-dehydrated skin with small bumps. Its black balm softened as I rolled it over dry skin, and gradual emulsification left my skin feeling less tight without a slippery residue.

How did the texture feel on oily-but-dehydrated skin with small bumps?

My skin tends to look oily on the surface but feel tight soon after washing, so I paid attention not only to cleansing power but also to emulsification and how my skin felt afterward. When I opened HEEDA Jirisan Moisturizing Charcoal Cleansing Balm, its deep black color felt unusual at first.

When I scooped it out with the spatula and applied it to my face, it felt like a dense balm rather than flowing like an oil from the start, then softened smoothly with my skin’s warmth. I liked that it moved easily over my skin even when I rolled it in like a massage with almost no pressure.

How did I emulsify it?

I applied the product to a dry face and rolled it thoroughly over areas where I had worn makeup or sunscreen. Then I added small amounts of water to my hands and massaged again. The balm felt as though it emulsified smoothly as it met water.

It felt cleaner to emulsify it by adding water little by little rather than all at once. On areas such as beside my nose and chin, where sebum, texture, and small bumps concern me, I gently rolled my fingertips in circles instead of rubbing for a long time.

How did my skin feel after washing—tight or with residue?

The part I was most satisfied with was how it felt after washing. After rinsing with water, my skin felt less squeaky and dry, but it also did not feel as though a thick oily film had been left behind. Once it was rinsed clean, my skin felt comfortable and moisturized.

What routine did I use it in?

On days I went out, I focused on rolling it over areas where I had applied sunscreen or makeup, emulsified it, and rinsed with lukewarm water. Even when sebum concerned me, I finished by letting the cleansing balm dissolve it sufficiently and rinsing, rather than rubbing for a long time.

These days, I use it every evening, following cleansing straight away with skincare. When I washed up with my child, they found it amusing that my face looked black.
