Cleansing balm for dry, textured skin: HEEDA Charcoal Balm

What skin concerns did I use it for?

I have a scar on my left cheek, small bumps on my forehead and chin, and enlarged pores on my nose, so I tend to use primer when applying makeup. For cleansing, I prefer products that wash away makeup left between uneven skin texture and pores.

What were the texture and container like?

As expected from a product containing charcoal, the balm itself was black. It had a slightly thick, Greek-yogurt-like balm texture, but was easy to scoop out with the included spatula.

The round container had a lid, and the spatula could be stored in a slot on the one-touch cap. I used the spatula rather than my fingers to take out only the amount I needed.

How did it remove makeup?

I tested it by applying my usual lipstick and a staining matte tint to the back of my hand. As I massaged in the balm, it gradually became more fluid with the warmth of my hand, and I could see the lipstick and tint coming off even before emulsifying it with water.

I also removed makeup by massaging it over my face. It did not sting badly when it reached my eye area, and after following with cleansing foam for a second cleanse, my skin felt refreshed without a makeup residue.

How tight did my skin feel afterward?

My skin felt less dry or tight after washing. As someone with sensitive, dry skin, I found it suitable enough for evening cleansing, and felt that it was priced in the ₩10,000 range.
