Yeosu baguette burger shop: 10 AM holiday car snacks, Jwasuyeong
In short
Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger (좌수영바게트버거) is a baguette burger and dessert shop opposite Jinnamgwan, near Yi Sun-sin Square in Yeosu. Rain kept our family away on the first day of a holiday trip, so we arrived at the 10 AM opening the next morning. We took away a baguette burger, Geomundo sea-breeze mugwort ice cream and a Jwasuyeong ttungcaron (jumbo macaron) set to eat in the car. Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger made a good in-car snack for adults and an elementary schooler on a Yeosu trip with long drives.

Why Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger for a car snack on our Yeosu trip
Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger (좌수영바게트버거) is a baguette burger shop near Yi Sun-sin Square in Yeosu, right across from Jinnamgwan. I stopped by on this holiday's family trip to Yeosu to grab takeout to eat in the car. There are so many places worth visiting in Yeosu that the drives between them are pretty long. And when you're hunting for things to do, a sit-down meal often doesn't fit, so we needed a takeout snack for the road.
We meant to go on the first day when we were near Yi Sun-sin Square, but it was pouring, so we just drove past. I kept thinking about it until the next morning, so I went straight for the opening run. It's known as the original baguette burger place in Yeosu.

Both the adults and our kid ate well here on this Yeosu trip, so I'm writing it up.
Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger location, hours and parking
- Address: 10 Dongmun-ro, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do (opposite Jinnamgwan)
- Hours: daily 10:00–20:00 (closes early if ingredients run out)
It's hard to park on the road right in front of the shop. It's easier to use the Jinnamgwan public parking lot across the street, or the Jinnam Sanggа public parking lot, a 3-minute walk away. Many public lots in downtown Yeosu give the first hour free, so popping out for takeout was easy.
I got there right at the 10 AM opening, and it's on the roadside so it was easy to find.

What's inside? A window bar table facing Jinnamgwan
The inside of the shop is tidy, and if you sit at the window bar table you can see Jinnamgwan right across the street. I only went to get takeout for the car, but the interior turned out really nice. The view is so pretty!

A sign in the shop says this spot was once the site of the Bokpadang well, where the turtle ships were built. That was neat too.

There's a photo zone and the space is well kept, so it's a good café near Yi Sun-sin Square to eat in rather than take away.
In front of the counter there's a notice: "We do not cut burgers (no cutting knife)."

The baguette is packed full, so I guess cutting it would make the filling spill out, and you just bite into it. I just ate it as is, haha.

How does the baguette burger taste? Eaten in the car
Jwasuyeong's baguette burger is a hollowed-out baguette filled with meat, cabbage and sauce. I got in the car with my takeout and ate it as we pulled out.

The shop says its meat comes from a HACCP-certified facility, and the meat tasted rich with no gamey smell. I liked the crisp crunch of the baguette crust. My partner doesn't usually eat bread or burgers, but this one is so full of meat that it felt as filling as a proper meal, and they ate it happily.

The Cheongyang chili inside cuts nicely through the greasy richness of the meat.

Can kids eat the baguette burger?
The chili in the burger isn't spicy, and I gave our elementary-school kid mostly the meat from the inside, and there were no complaints about spiciness. It's a snack everyone from kids to grandparents can share, and a great Yi Sun-sin Square bite, haha.
Takeout tip: how to reheat the baguette burger
If you're taking baguette burgers away, for example on a day trip from Yeosu, keep them refrigerated, then warm them lightly in a dry pan or air fryer and the crispiness comes back, I'm told.
Geomundo sea-breeze mugwort ice cream: is it bitter?
Jwasuyeong's Geomundo sea-breeze mugwort ice cream has almost no bitterness: just a soft milky taste with a faint hint of mugwort. I ordered it to try alongside the burger.

I figured a mugwort dessert would be too bitter for our kid, so I bought only one. But even though it says it's made with Geomundo sea-breeze mugwort, there was almost no bitterness. It was easier to eat than green tea ice cream. The little one took one bite, liked it, and wouldn't put down the spoon, so the adults barely got any, lol.

It comes out as a round scoop in a pale mugwort green, which looks lovely. If there are two or more of you, don't split one; order one per person, haha. It's an easy, light dessert in Yeosu. 👍
Jwasuyeong macaron set: what's in it and how does it taste?
The Jwasuyeong jumbo macaron (ttung-carong) set holds 5 in a box: strawberry milk, sea-breeze mugwort real, sea-breeze mugwort latte, sea-breeze mugwort choco chip, and cookies & cream. I bought it from the dessert display along with everything else.

Five flavors, so it felt like a generous set.

The box packaging is neat too, so it looks good as a gift or Yeosu souvenir.

I'd planned to have them with coffee at home, but on the drive back up to Seoul I pulled out the strawberry milk one first, in the car.

The strawberry milk macaron is chewy outside with a thick layer of cream inside. It isn't greasy, and the strawberry milk flavor is clean, which made it perfect to eat while driving.

The mugwort macarons I ate once I got home aren't overly sweet either, so they go well with coffee.
Is Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger a good snack for the road in Yeosu?
The baguette burger from Jwasuyeong was easy to eat in the car during this Yeosu trip. It's easy to hold in one hand, drops fewer crumbs, and the filling is generous enough to stand in for a simple lunch.

If you're looking for a snack near Yi Sun-sin Square with a view of Jinnamgwan, or wondering what dessert to take away, the combo of baguette burger, mugwort ice cream and macarons is worth a stop.
