I love Sokcho and I love Sokcho eats, but it had been way too long since I last came. Distance from Seongnam to Sokcho? Pfft, haha... I've been toughened up by Tongyeong and Yeosu trips 💯💯

How far is Yetgoeul Sundubu from Geumho Resort in Sokcho?
Yetgoeul Sundubu is a soft tofu restaurant 8 minutes from Sokcho Geumho Resort and 10 minutes from Cheoksan Hot Springs. We stayed at Sokcho Geumho Resort, which is old but clean, so I was happy!!!! We dropped our bags, set out early, got hungry, and headed straight to Yetgoeul Sundubu nearby!

Yetgoeul Sundubu is already a famous Sokcho restaurant, and since it opens at 7 a.m., it's well known as a breakfast spot too ❤️

Yetgoeul Sundubu menu, prices and what we ordered
The signature at Yetgoeul Sundubu is the spicy sundubu (soft tofu stew) at ₩16,000, and there's also grilled pollack set meal, stuffed squid sundae (Korean blood sausage style), and perilla oil pan-fried tofu. There's even a tofu steak for kids, so the lineup is great 😀😀😀

We ordered two spicy sundubu at ₩16,000 each and one perilla oil pan-fried tofu at ₩10,000!

We came after lunchtime and cars were still pouring in endlessly. Another holiday weekend is about to start, so I expect Sokcho to be packed. If you're looking for a breakfast spot in Sokcho, come here! It's perfect as a hangover cure too.

Look how neat the tableware is! Each set is individually wrapped, which I loved even more. The owner greeted everyone personally and even helped with parking. Such passion! It put me in a good mood for no reason.

Does the spicy sundubu come with pan-fried tofu and pot rice?
Order the spicy sundubu at Yetgoeul Sundubu and tricolor tofu jijim (pan-fried tofu) comes along with it. When the spicy sundubu and the tofu jijim finally arrived, I was like, wait, the spicy sundubu comes with tofu jijim too?! Oh my god, I didn't know! Tricolor tofu, and the colors were pretty too.

All the side dishes taste healthy. The rice is served in a stone pot, so it tasted wonderful too. Every side dish is a rice thief (so good you keep eating rice) ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

So neat, haha. Side dishes can be refilled too!! It's not a self-serve bar; curiously there's a banchan fridge, and you just bring your bowl over, which was so convenient.

The tofu jijim! The colors are so pretty, right? The soy sauce seasoning that came with it was delicious too, and my kid loved dipping tofu in it.

How does Yetgoeul Sundubu's spicy seafood sundubu taste?
The spicy sundubu at Yetgoeul Sundubu comes in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot), so it stays hot to the last bite, which I loved. You only see mussels on top, but there are clams and shrimp inside too. As a seafood lover, this menu was perfect for me, hehe.

A full spread that looks so appetizing yet is a healthy meal, right~~? If you come to a Sokcho restaurant, of course you have to eat sundubu. Jjamppong sundubu is good too, but please try this clean, mild-tasting spicy sundubu.

The side dishes are tasty too. The soy sauce seasoning is handmade and really good. It goes so well with tofu~~!!!!

And the pepper pickles!!!!! Eating them after the spicy sundubu was such a perfect match. Spicy yet sweet, I ate with sweat beading above my lip. Maybe it's because I skipped breakfast, but it was so good. My husband even suggested eating here again the next morning, haha. He must have liked it.

And the real plus is that pot rice is served, with no extra charge. But hotpot doesn't come with pot rice, so when you order hotpot you need to order rice separately, haha. Plain steamed rice is available too.

Is the spicy sundubu okay if you can't handle spicy food?
The spice at Yetgoeul Sundubu creeps up on you at the end, but it's not very hot, so even people who can't handle spicy food can enjoy it!! Bubbling and sizzling, there was an incredible amount of soft tofu inside, far more than I expected. There was lots of seafood, and the mussels were really plump, so it tasted very fresh and rich. I like spicy food, so I added more chili powder.
The soft tofu is so silky, right? The green onions are tasty and have a nice bite~~~ There are cocktail shrimp inside too. No peeling needed, which makes this spicy sundubu even better.

Eating this as our first meal right after arriving in Sokcho was so worth it, hehe. Big, plump mussels and tons of silky tofu!!!!!

Buckwheat pancake and stir-fried dried pollack on the side
Yetgoeul Sundubu serves a buckwheat pancake that's really nutty. It's perfect dipped in that tasty handmade soy sauce I mentioned. Thank you for the generous portion. I'm someone who loves pancakes, that's me, I'm the one.

My husband said the stir-fried dried pollack strips were delicious too and put them on top of his fluffy pot rice :) Korean food really is the best. Coming to Yetgoeul Sundubu in Sokcho was a great call, good job me.

Is Yetgoeul Sundubu worth a return visit?
Yetgoeul Sundubu is a Sokcho restaurant that serves breakfast and had delicious sundubu, with easy access and a location near our hotel, so I'd like to stop by again. After the meal, back to the hotel, hahaha. We'll rest there and then head to Jungang Market. Next time I'm going to try the hotpot!!
