I got my usual volume magic (Korean heat straightening) at Beorn Hair Cheongdam (비오른헤어 청담점). For the record, every summer my curly hair flares up like crazy and it is honestly hell. So, yep, back to the salon I went.

I booked ahead on Naver before visiting. I always get volume magic with S-curls on the ends, and that look had gotten a bit boring, so I wanted a consultation. The head designer at Beorn Hair offered consultations, so I booked on Naver right away!!!

Where is Beorn Hair Cheongdam? 3 minutes from Gangnamgu-cheong Station Exit 4

Beorn Hair Cheongdam is right by Gangnamgu-cheong Station. Come out of Exit 4 and it's about a 3-minute walk. Personally I thought the location was great, since it's on the main road and easy to find.

It's on the 2nd floor of the building. Maybe lots of people come for wedding hair and makeup? It gave me the feeling it would be a good place to book as part of a wedding prep course.

Before: limp straightened hair with S-curls

So, the before, haha. I thought I had taken decent care of my straightened S-curl hair, but it was drooping so much and I really didn't like it.

Some parts still had curl and some didn't, so it needed care and alignment, and I wanted to tame the overall frizzy feeling. That's why I came. Some of it was damaged too, so I needed a cut as well.

Did the volume magic hurt? From nourishing to flat iron

The volume magic at Beorn Hair Cheongdam started with nourishing the hair and loosening it up so it would straighten well. The stylist applied the solution carefully and took care to keep the hair from getting damaged, which I loved. The shampoo was also amazing. I think it's the first salon I've been to where even the shampoo is perfect. So refreshing!!!!

After a shampoo and a quick step, the stylist pressed the hair straight with a flat iron. With magic, you want that satisfying firm straightening, but if they pull too hard it hurts T_T But this was honestly the most painless, comfortable magic I've ever had.

The stylist also made sure the hair didn't stick flat against my face, and the care was perfect, so I was very happy. Their straightening skill is truly top tier. They also explained my hair's condition along the way and checked everything carefully, which was the best.

Why I switched from S-curl to C-curl

This time I got a C-curl instead of an S-curl. I was so sick of my hair never looking tidy with S-curls that I decided to try a C-curl. The stylist rolled it right away, and since I wanted a neat look, they rolled it for a clean C-curl. Personally I loved that the curl was chunky.

This was before the neutralizer. Wow, the curl came out so well and the straightening turned out great. The curl usually loosens a bit after the neutralizer, so I decided to wait and see the result and went off to shampoo.

A cut tailored to straightened hair

The cut at Beorn Hair Cheongdam was done so my hair didn't look thin even though it was straightened. Ugh, the cut was so tasteful too. Because it's straightened hair, it can look thin, but this was just right and easy to wear. They have some kind of amazing sense, you know?

Result: volume magic with a C-curl

And my hair was done!!! Ahh, it's so silky and I love it.

The hair straightened perfectly, and with the right amount of cut and the C-curl, I got exactly the neat look I wanted.

They checked the curl right to the end, and I was so satisfied that I'm totally coming back!!! I love how tastefully they do hair, and even for the same treatment, it feels like they adjust it a bit more for my age. They also analyzed my hair type and condition carefully, which I liked even more.
