Today I'm sharing our trip to Gaeddae Playground in Namyangju with Terry, our adorable Boston Terrier! The weather has been so nice, and I was wondering where to take Terry, so I went looking for a dog café near Seoul where he could finally run around to his heart's content! Gaeddae Playground isn't just a space for dogs to run; it also has photo zones, a café and restaurant, and self-bath facilities, so I was more satisfied than I expected.

Gaeddae Playground parking and outdoor area

Parking area at Gaeddae Playground in Namyangju

This is the parking area (you can park three rows deep, and there are more spaces across the road). I also spotted a sign in the lot for Gaeddae Playground x Jadam Chicken.

My first impression on arriving was that the place is bigger than I expected.

There was also a sign listing the breeds that aren't allowed in, the must-order menu items and so on.

What are the indoor photo zones like at Gaeddae Playground?

The indoor space was bigger than I expected and prettily decorated. There were all kinds of photo zones with a summer-vacation feel, so it's a great place to take souvenir photos.

There's a separate snack corner too, and lots of photo zones. If you're an owner who loves taking pictures, I think you'll be happy here.

There were pet-related signs on the wall, and a pet food stylist certificate on display, so I got the feeling the place is run with real expertise in pets.

What did we eat at Gaeddae Playground?

We ordered tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), a café latte and a strawberry banana smoothie. I ordered first and the menu was more varied than I expected; we picked easy, light things. People around us were ordering a lot of the SET menus.

At last the food and drinks arrived! The tteokbokki was tastier than I expected and plenty to take the edge off our hunger, and with a cold drink it felt like a proper picnic.

Gaeddae Playground's outdoor field and dog pool

One of the best things about the outdoor area is its nature-friendly feel. I went out after looking around inside, and there are lots of trees and a fair amount of shade, so owners can rest comfortably too. Even though it's close to the city, it felt like a short getaway to the forest, which I loved.

Terry took a slow look around at first, then adapted quickly and trotted all over, sniffing everything happily. Dogs really do seem happiest when they can run through a big open space. Seeing him like that made me feel good too.

A timid Boston Terrier dives into the pool?

The highlight of Gaeddae Playground is this pool!

Out of nowhere, maybe because he suddenly wanted to be in the water, timid Terry dove right in! Terry looked shocked, and my friend and I were really shocked too. Terry, where did that courage come from..? But jumping in like that is dangerous ㅠㅠ

Since Terry was already in the water, we put him on a float and played with him.

Self-bath and dryer at Gaeddae Playground: what to bring

Self-bath facility at Gaeddae Playground

If you use the self-bath at Gaeddae Playground, be sure to bring dog shampoo and your own towel. After a long play session we decided to try the self-bath facility, but Terry, who isn't a fan of baths, didn't cooperate at all, so shampooing was hard work ㅠㅠ

After the bath, it's dryer time! Gaeddae Playground has a dryer made just for dogs, which was much more convenient than drying him at home. Terry gets tense at just the sound of a hair dryer at home, but that day he put up with it well. Seeing him all clean after the bath and drying, I was pretty satisfied as his owner too.

Would I recommend Gaeddae Playground as a dog café near Seoul?

Gaeddae Playground felt like an all-in-one space where owners and dogs can spend time together. The dog runs around happily, the owner relaxes, and the bath gets done too, so it was convenient in many ways. It was a day of making good memories, spending a relaxed time with Terry and my friend after a long while.

If you want to spend special time with your dog near Seoul, I recommend visiting Gaeddae Playground! And the owner is so, so kind! I hope you stay healthy and your business thrives :)

After playing so hard today, you fell asleep snoring the moment we got home. So cute.
