Charcoal cleansing duo for sunscreen removal, 1-week test: HEEDA

In summer, I apply sunscreen more often than usual, so I wanted to change my habit of cleansing with foam cleanser alone. Because my skin is thin and easily irritated, I used the HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal Cleansing Duo Set for a week, hoping for a gentle feel.

What is included and how did I use it?

The set includes a mildly acidic charcoal cleansing balm and cleansing foam. On dry skin, I spread a thin layer of the cleansing balm over my nose and cheekbone areas, massaged it, added water to emulsify it, and rinsed. I then lathered the cleansing foam well and finished with lukewarm water.

The cleansing balm cap had a space to store the spatula. It was convenient during use because the spatula did not roll around separately.

How did the cleansing balm texture and emulsifying feel?

When I scooped it out with the spatula, it had a soft texture that broke down like mousse. I first rubbed it on the back of my hand before using it on my face, and it did not feel strongly irritating to me.

When I massaged it with water, the balm turned oil-like and emulsified. I do not often use cleansing oils because their oily finish usually feels burdensome, but this product left less of that oily feeling after cleansing.

How did my skin feel after a week of use?

I used the black cleansing foam after lathering it thoroughly in my hands. It felt softer than typical foam cleansers, and I used it to clear away any remaining feel after cleansing with the balm.

After a week, the blackheads around my nose, which had looked messy when mixed with cosmetics, seemed slightly clearer. After using the charcoal cleansing balm, my skin texture also felt more smoothed out. However, this is my personal experience on my own skin.

Did it leave my skin feeling tight after cleansing?

With products that leave my skin very tight immediately after cleansing, I need to apply moisturizer right away. After using this duo, I felt comparatively less dryness or tightness before applying moisturizer. If you are looking for a double-cleansing product with less oily residue after washing, my experience may be useful to consider.
