Today's story is about Ui Sadang Branch (우이 사당점), an atmospheric bar hidden in an alley in Sadang-dong 🍻 The lighting and props were so pretty, and above all the egg in hell was seriously amazing, ㅠㅠ (sobbing happy tears). Bottom line: I left totally satisfied 😆
Ui Sadang Branch hours, parking and reservations
Ui Sadang Branch is at 41 Dongjak-daero 3-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, 1st floor. It is open 18:00–02:00 on weekdays (last order 01:00), 17:00–02:00 on Saturday, and 17:00–23:00 on Sunday (last order 22:00). Parking is paid.
There was no wait! But the inside isn't very big, and it's a popular spot, so I'd recommend booking ahead 👍
What does the outside of Ui Sadang Branch look like?

The building has tiled walls, and the green door and window frames really catch your eye. Lantern lights glow softly under an arched awning, so it looks even better at night ✨ A round wooden sign is engraved with "Ui" (우이), and the window is lined with props like wine bottles, flowers and a vintage trunk 🌼 A pink menu stand next to the entrance made it easy to find!

Through the window you can catch a glimpse of stained-glass lamps and the Paulaner draft beer tap 🍺
Inside Ui Sadang Branch: vintage atmosphere and photo spot
Inside, warm lighting shines over lots of cute vintage props, and the two-person window seat is the photo spot. You feel the mood the moment you open the door.

A chandelier hangs from the ceiling and picture-book covers line the walls 📚 A Union Jack tissue box, a dartboard, vintage speakers and a retro radio made it fun to look around 🐾 In front of the open kitchen runs a green bar table (dacchi, Korean-style counter seating) with whisky bottles on display 🥃
The two-person window seat, with stained-glass lamps hanging over it, is the real photo spot 📸 Pictures taken there look amazing!
When I went, there were group gatherings and even a table that looked like a blind date, haha. That says a lot about the atmosphere, right?!
There's a step at the entrance with a "mind the step" sign, so be careful when you walk in ⚠️ Once seated, you get a basic side dish of crunchy bean-like snacks. A sign said extra servings of it cost ₩0 👍

The staff were sooo kind too!! We could eat and drink happily 🙏

How does the egg in hell (Tomayro) at Ui Sadang Branch taste?
The Tomayro (egg in hell) at Ui Sadang Branch is a total must!!!!!!!!!! It's a ₩34,000 dish of tomato stew with linguine, mozzarella and egg.
Please order this, ㅠㅠㅠ The noodles in the tomato stew are like pasta, so it's fun to eat 🍝 There's mozzarella on one side and it goes so well with the tomato that I rationed the cheese, haha.

And there's an egg underneath too! A drinking snack that looks after your health?? 🥚 If you're on a diet, you get egg, and tomato is low in calories, so you can eat without guilt, haha (it looks like something you could believe is a side dish).
How spicy is the oden soup at Ui Sadang Branch?
The spicy oden soup (₩19,000) at Ui Sadang Branch is really spicy, just like its name says 🌶️ I can't handle spice, so it felt pretty hot to me, but my friend, who loves spicy food, absolutely loved it, haha.

It's spicier than ordinary oden soup, so it was perfect with drinks! It felt like it cured my hangover in real time?? haha The broth was delicious too, and I kept practically drinking it 😋 I officially recognize this as an oden broth hotspot 👍
Somaek with the egg in hell and oden soup

At Ui Sadang Branch, we mixed somaek (soju + beer) with Chamisul Fresh and Terra! With the spicy oden soup and the tomato egg in hell, the somaek went down so smoothly, haha.
