On dates in Magok, don't you always end up eating the same kind of food? Pasta, steak and barbecue are all great, but sometimes you want somewhere with a different vibe. That's when I go to Taqueros. It doesn't feel like just grabbing a meal. It feels like "we really went out to eat today!"

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is at 16 Magokjungang 6-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 2nd floor, Unit 202 of Magok GMG Tower. It is open 11:30-21:30, closed every Monday, and parking is available.

The atmosphere is nice, the food is generous, and you get the fun of making your own food, so date satisfaction is really high here. Haha. Today I'll share my honest review after visiting several times.

Why Taqueros when you want tacos in Magok?

When I crave Mexican food in Magok, I almost always head to Taqueros. It's easy to get to and the place is spacious, so it works for lunch and is a really good dinner date spot too. I've been several times and always leave satisfied.

What is the atmosphere like at Taqueros?

The restaurant has a bright, lively family-restaurant feel. The first thing you notice when you walk in is that cheerful mood. It's comfortable like a family restaurant, with a slight feeling of being in a restaurant abroad.

So it feels less like a place you just eat and leave and more like a really enjoyable meal out. It suits couples on a date, and also family dinners or get-togethers with friends.

First, a Corona beer!

At Taqueros I started with a bottle of Corona. Corona is the beer for Mexican food, after all. Haha. I ordered a cold one and kicked things off happily.

It has a refreshing taste, so it goes really well with tacos and fajitas.

Even the complimentary nacho chips are delicious

While you wait after ordering, Taqueros brings out nacho chips, and these are also free refills. Usually you just nibble on the nachos they give you, but the ones at Taqueros were so good I kept reaching for more. The crunch is great, and with the sauce I couldn't stop. Since refills are free, you can enjoy them without worrying.

What's in the Taqueros signature couple set? (56.-)

This time I ordered the Taqueros signature couple set, which came with a fish taco, a chicken taco and a big fajita. Honestly, I was surprised by the amount when it first arrived. It was far more generous than I expected. For two people, it was totally enough to get really full!

The fun of building your own fajita

The fajita was the dish I liked most in the couple set. Meat and vegetables come piled generously on a sizzling iron plate, and I was happy the whole time I ate.

Tortillas are free refills. Sauces are free refills. Nacho chips are free refills. If you run short you can keep getting more, so I could eat as much as I wanted without feeling self-conscious. Wrapping up whatever fillings you like was a lot of fun too.

My personal pick: the chicken taco

The chicken taco that came with the couple set was my personal favorite. The juicy chicken and the vegetables went together so well

that from the first bite I understood why it's popular. The fish taco was good too, but the chicken taco was a little more my taste.

Fajita tip at Taqueros: use all four sauces

Taqueros has a variety of sauces, and when I make a fajita I always add all four. Haha. The guacamole is the real kicker.

Its smooth, nutty flavor really balances everything out. It goes really well with the spicy sauce too.

My own tip: crush the nacho chips into your taco

Try crushing the free-refill nacho chips at Taqueros into small pieces and putting them inside your taco. It's a combination I came up with after eating here many times, and the added crunch makes it much tastier.
