Tonight's late-night meal was a fried and yangnyeom half-and-half from Hidongi Chicken Seokgwan Branch (히동이치킨 석관점), a chicken shop in Seokgwan-dong. I've been so busy lately that I honestly don't know how the days are flying by... I get buried in work at the office, and if I ate a proper lunch like that I'd feel like it was stuck in my chest, so I just grab a sketchy, bare-minimum lunch.

So when I get home after work, the tension melts away and only then does my appetite come back, which is why I keep ordering delivery or a late-night meal these days.

Tonight's pick is Hidongi Chicken, a chicken brand I love so much!!! It's super famous in the northern part of Seoul.

Our usual Hidongi Chicken pick is the spicy chili mayo chicken, but today I just went classic and ordered half fried, half yangnyeom.

Hidongi has so many kinds of chicken that every time I order, I agonize over which one to pick.

The nice thing about ordering half-and-half at Hidongi is that every menu item can be made half-and-half, and they put each half in its own box, almost as if you'd ordered a whole chicken of each, so it feels as hearty as two chickens.

How do Hidongi's crispy fried and yangnyeom chicken taste?

Hidongi's crispy fried chicken, which I love so much! The price is in the ₩10,000 range, but the quality is honestly tastier than the big-brand chickens! It's crackly crispy, and nutty and tender too, so I was glad again today that I ordered from Hidongi. And of course, the yangnyeom chicken can't be skipped!

If the fried chicken is good, you already know the rest of the shop is fine, haha. Hidongi's yangnyeom chicken is also sweet and spicy and really delicious.

An evening with Hidongi half-and-half and canned beer

I don't usually crave beer even in midsummer, haha, but with such a good side dish I suddenly wanted beer so badly :) Chicken and beer, of course! Luckily I had canned beer at home, so I poured a cold one and dug into the Hidongi chicken? So good!!

It was a tiring day, but chatting about it over chicken and beer, I felt recharged. Spending a quiet evening at home eating something tasty is the best joy and healing these days!!
