Ansan taco restaurant for lime-topped birria: The Taco Booth

The weather has been so nice lately, and I was looking for something delicious to lift my mood when I heard there was a great taco spot around Gojan-dong in Ansan—so I quickly went to check it out.

I already love Mexican food, so I arrived with high expectations. From the atmosphere and the looks of the food to its deep flavors, it was even better than I expected, so I wanted to leave you an honest review.

The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch’s hip first impression

The place I visited was The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch (더타코부스 안산고잔점). The hip exterior, with its unmistakable American-street feel, caught my eye the moment I arrived!

It was styled so tastefully that I almost felt as if I had stepped into a little taco stand in New York. I also spotted a 2026 Outstanding Franchise Store certification sign by the entrance, which immediately gave me more confidence in the food quality and service.

Inside, warm, cozy lighting blended seamlessly with colorful mood posters and hip décor. The tables were comfortably spaced and neatly arranged, so I thought it would be just right for visiting with friends or a partner. It really has the perfect atmosphere for a Gojan-dong food-date course!

Ordering was easy through the tablet installed at each table. The menu was packed with tempting tacos, poke bowls, quesadillas, and other Mexican dishes, so we spent quite a while deciding what to have.

After much deliberation, we decided to make a hearty meal of The Taco Booth’s signature birria tacos, a picadillo poke bowl, and pollo tacos.

Our dishes began arriving one by one shortly afterward, and I couldn’t help exclaiming as soon as I saw them. They were piled high with colorful ingredients and looked appetite-inducing before I even took a bite!

The first thing I tried was the birria taco, one of Taco Booth’s signature menu items.

The golden, crisp tortilla was generously filled to bursting with meat and cheese. Dunking it deeply into the spicy-sweet house sauce brought an explosion of savory flavor across my mouth. Its crisp exterior, moist filling, nutty cheese, and rich meat juices came together to deliver a truly Mexican taste. A light squeeze of lime gave it a clean finish, making it so easy to keep eating without ever getting tired of it.

Crunchy pollo tacos and a salad poke pairing

The other taco, the pollo taco (chipotle chicken), was topped generously with crisp fresh vegetables, chopped onion, and tomatoes, making it beautifully colorful just to look at. Every bite was full of fresh, tangy flavor, and it made a perfect partner for the richer taco. They did not hold back on the ingredients, either, so there was plenty of satisfying texture to chew through.

The poke bowl we ordered was also better than expected! We chose salad instead of rice. A wooden bowl came neatly filled with fresh greens, lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, guacamole, chickpeas, grilled green beans, and spicy seasoned meat. The combination of nutty, substantial chickpeas and smooth guacamole was excellent. After mixing everything together and taking a big spoonful, I thought it would be a perfect choice for anyone dieting or looking for a clean, healthy meal.

Tacos can sometimes start to feel a little rich, but the poke bowl’s freshness and sweet-tangy ingredients cut through that richness along the way, so we enjoyed a delicious, filling meal right to the end. Everything was seasoned just right, and the freshness of the ingredients came through clearly—you could really feel the care that went into making it.

Convenient in-store amenities before and after your meal

Oh, and the customer amenities on one side of the restaurant were really well set up! Since tacos are often eaten with your hands, it was so convenient to have a sink and cleanser right inside for washing up before and after eating. The self-serve bar was neatly stocked with water, plates, forks, spoons, and even sanitary gloves, so you could take what you needed comfortably. They even offered phone power-bank rental through Charging Pig, which felt like such a thoughtful touch—no need to worry about your battery while you eat.

Overall, the restaurant was hip and great for taking photos, and above all, each dish was high quality, which made the experience especially satisfying. If you are looking for a special, delicious lunch around Gojan-dong in Ansan or considering a different kind of date spot, I definitely recommend stopping by.
