The fall weather's been so nice and cool lately, and I suddenly had a craving for something spicy and Western. So I went looking for somewhere to go and found an American-style casual pasta place in Sadong, Ansan with really good reviews — so I hopped right over!

This time I visited 'THREE PASTA', which is buzzing word-of-mouth as a must-eat spot near Hanyang University ERICA. The exterior had these hip red and blue neon signs that caught my eye even from far away.

It had a hip yet comfortable American casual vibe, making it perfect for a college-town date or a hangout with friends.

Inside Three Pasta: the room and the ordering tablet

Walking into Three Pasta Hanyang University ERICA branch, I was greeted by a clean, stylish mid-century interior. The black metal chairs and soft lighting made it great for Instagram photos too.

Each table had its own ordering tablet mounted on the pillar, so I could browse the menu and order comfortably without having to call a staff member. They also had a perk where you get a drink or mini fries for posting a receipt review, so keep that in mind if you want the bonus!

What's on the menu and what we ordered

Looking through the menu, there were so many options that I spent a long time deciding what to get. Just the pizzas alone — like the five-cheese-fries pizza and chipotle shrimp — looked amazing, and the pastas had a lot of spicy-sweet options tailored to Korean tastes, like K-toowoomba.

We went with the popular signature items this time — K-toowoomba pasta, smoky chipotle risotto, and a side of 4-piece wings and drumsticks — a pretty solid order if I do say so myself.

After ordering, they set out pickles and jalapeños on a cute little steel plate first, which I liked for how tidy it looked.

How does the K-Toowoomba pasta taste?

A bit later the main dishes started coming out one by one, and the look and aroma were truly overwhelming! Served on a sleek black plate loaded with sauce, topped with plenty of seasoning and cheese — it made my mouth water just looking at it.

I was most curious about the K-toowoomba pasta, Ansan's representative pasta dish, so I dove right in with a big forkful. The moment I took a bite, a rich savoriness hit first, followed by a sharp spiciness — it was seriously an art form!

The thick, creamy rosé-flavored sauce had just the right amount of spice that Koreans love added in, so it never felt greasy even to the last bite. The noodles were cooked just right, keeping a nice chewy texture, and the portion of both sauce and noodles was generous — I get why it's called a good-value spot in Ansan.

What is the smoky chipotle risotto like?

The smoky chipotle risotto that came next exceeded expectations too! The distinctive smoky aroma of Mexican chipotle had soaked well into every grain of rice, and the spicy-sweet, salty sauce burst in my mouth.

The savory flavor of the cheese paired with the dough-like texture of the rice made it a great match to alternate with bites of the pasta. It's rare to find a dish with this kind of unique smoky charm among Sadong, Ansan restaurants, so I was very satisfied.

The side order: 4-piece wings and drumsticks

I'd definitely recommend trying the 4-piece wings and drumsticks we had as our final side dish! They came laid out on checkered wax paper, fried to a golden brown, served with Tabasco sauce — crispy outside with juices locked in inside.

The base seasoning was already spicy and salty, so dabbing on a bit of the Tabasco that came with it made me let out an involuntary sigh of satisfaction. Washing it down with a cold cola or ade cuts through the richness perfectly!

Is Three Pasta a good date spot in Sa-dong, Ansan?

Overall, the original Western menu items tasted great, and the prices were kind relative to the portions, so it seemed like an easy option for students or nearby residents. The relaxed atmosphere also makes it a great date spot in Ansan, and if you like pizza or Western food in Ansan, one visit and you'll probably become a regular.

I came here craving Western food after a while, and left happily having cleaned my plate. If you're in Sadong near ERICA and want something different and delicious like pasta and risotto, give this place a try!
