Reserving the 58,000-won yukhoe set at Yuksul, a Gojan-dong bar in

A few days ago I met up with a friend in the evening for good food and a drink, and while looking for a nice-atmosphere bar around Gojan-dong in Ansan, I finally visited Yuksul, a yukhoe (raw beef) and mungtigi specialty place I'd had my eye on for a while.

What does Yuksul look like inside and out?

Yuksul is a yukhoe and mungtigi specialty bar in Gojan-dong, Ansan, and the exterior has a slightly retro feel. When we arrived, the lighting was on and looked so pretty that the place already felt inviting before we even walked in.

At the entrance was a sign that read something like, "A great place to share a yukhoe platter and a drink," which fit us perfectly — we just wanted a relaxed, easy spot to unwind after work.

The inside was tidy and well-kept too, so it seemed like a solid choice for gatherings, work dinners, or dates in Ansan.

The restaurant is located in Gojan-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do.

What do you get for booking Yuksul through Naver?

If you make a reservation at Yuksul in advance, they set a small stand with your name on it at the table. We had reserved too, and seeing the stand with my name on it made me really happy.

The card on the table said the dishes are made with Korean beef slaughtered the same day and seasonal ingredients — it felt like a thoughtful welcome, and made the meal all the more comfortable.

There's also a review event where visitors who make a Naver reservation get a free bottle of traditional liquor, plus a fun roulette event — worth knowing if you're planning a visit.

What comes on the 58,000-won Yuksul han-sang platter?

That day we ordered Yuksul's signature menu, the Yuksul Han-sang set (₩58,000). The moment the food came out, the huge plate piled high made both of us gasp "wow~" out loud.

Yukhoe and mungtigi filled the plate generously, with a soft-egg soy sauce sitting right in the center.

Alongside it were minari, shiitake mushroom, cheese, aged kimchi, gim gimbap, vegetable gimbap, and gim — the spread was really generous.

I tried the yukhoe first — no gamey smell at all, with a chewy texture that stuck to the palate in the best way.

The beef sashimi was also super soft and fresh; dipped lightly in the sauce and wrapped in minari or gim, the combination was even better than I expected.

Since the ingredients were so fresh, I kept reaching for more without a second thought.

Side dishes at Yuksul and the best way to eat them

Every table at Yuksul has a card explaining how to enjoy the dishes. You can mix and match side dishes and sauces to taste — dried sweet potato snack, aged kimchi, gim, house meat sauce, and soft-egg sauce.

The beef soup you simmer at your table

Along with the Yuksul Han-sang set, you also get a soup you keep warm on a tabletop burner. There was more beef inside than I expected, giving the broth a really deep, refreshing flavor.

A drink, then a spoonful of warm soup — it hit the spot perfectly and settled the stomach. You could actually watch the soju disappear!

The basic pickled sides and aged kimchi were also clean-tasting and made great drinking companions.

Can Yuksul seat a group? The second floor and small touches

Inside Yuksul, stairs lead up to a second floor with plenty of tables. It has a cozy, tidy atmosphere distinct from the first floor — a nice spot for sharing drinks. With the space well divided, it looked ideal for group gatherings or work dinners.

In one corner, they'd even prepared cute character lap blankets — a thoughtful touch for guests.

On one side of the table sat a board and pen, apparently for writing song requests — being able to ask for the music you want and enjoy the mood was a nice surprise.

The restroom was especially clean and full of nice touches! Beside the stone sink sat a fragrant Jo Malone diffuser, and disposable mouthwash, floss, hair ties, and bobby pins were all neatly stocked. Having those little essentials on hand after a meal or between drinks really showed the owner's thoughtfulness and care.

I'd happily recommend this place to anyone looking for a great yukhoe spot in Ansan or a clean, comfortable bar for group get-togethers. The spread was generous and the mood relaxed, so we had a great time chatting over good food. Next time you're in Gojan-dong craving yukhoe and a drink, be sure to stop by Yuksul!
