Café with power outlets near Gyodae station, Seoul: Mini Male

Mini Male Roastery & Coffee Bar Seocho Gyodae Branch is a roastery café in Seocho, Seoul, 156m from Exit 9 of Gyodae station. Mini Male's venti Helsinki Latte costs 6,600 won and the cream castella 4,600 won — the latte cup is about the size of an adult woman's palm and the castella as long as a forearm, so both are easy for two people to share. A corner seat at the shared table has a power outlet, which made two hours of laptop work comfortable.

Solo dining at a Seocho tonkatsu restaurant: king shrimp katsu at Kosi

Kosi Gyodae Branch is a sanuki udon and tonkatsu restaurant near Exit 14 of Gyodae Station in Seocho, Seoul. On a solo dinner after work, the writer took a bar-style counter seat at Kosi Gyodae Branch and ordered the mixed katsu set for 18,000 won, which pairs thick-cut tonkatsu and king shrimp katsu with kake udon (hot udon in light broth). The king shrimp katsu was big and crisp enough to order again on its own, making Kosi Gyodae Branch an easy pick for eating alone.
