Burger joint in Magok: fries and ranch cheeseburger at Dumburger

I'm at Magok Station a lot! So I often eat around here, and a little while ago a new handmade burger place with a funny-looking sign popped up. I checked the reviews, they were good, and with a wide range of burgers and sides it looked like a burger joint made for my taste, so I went to try it. It's Dumburger Magok.

Where is Dumburger Magok, and what are the hours?

Dumburger Magok is at 219 Gonghang-daero, 1F, Units 108 and 109, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and it's open daily 10:00-02:00. The first thing that caught my eye was how long the hours are! 10:00 to 2:00! There are lots of offices around here, so I thought this would be a great handmade burger spot when you're working late and get hungry.

Dumburger Magok atmosphere and busy times

Dumburger Magok gets very crowded at lunchtime, so I went well after the lunch rush. The hours are long, there are no closing days and no break time, so you can drop in whenever you like! There's also a sink inside the restaurant, so you can eat in a more hygienic setting.

Dumburger Magok has a range of burgers, including the Dumburger, cheeseburger, B.L.T. cheeseburger and bacon cheeseburger, and making any of them a set costs ₩5,000 extra.

Ordering the cheeseburger set and 3 chicken tenders

Most Dumburger burgers come with cheese, so I ordered the cheeseburger set, which I figured is the basic one, and added 3 chicken tenders. You pour your own drink at the dispenser at the front of the restaurant! I'm someone who only ever thinks about dieting, so I went with Pepsi Zero.

Dumburger fries: crispy and not too salty

Compared with other fast-food places, the fries at Dumburger Magok were crispier and a little less salty. I always eat the fries first when I order a set, and here too my hand went straight for them, haha. Slightly less salt, I'd say!? The fries also have that plain, mellow potato flavor, so they were tasty and easy to keep picking at without feeling heavy.

How thick is the Dumburger cheeseburger patty?

The Dumburger cheeseburger is simple and basic: melty cheese, pickles and a patty. But it's also the fundamental burger that shows you a burger joint's quality. Usually if this cheeseburger is good, I get curious about the other items and end up coming back, haha.

The patty was thicker than two buns put together. At first it was hard to see between the buns, but one bite and the patty's presence hit me! Being so thick, it had rich juiciness and great meaty flavor. Add the rich, salty cheese and tangy, crunchy pickles, and it was an excellent handmade burger!

At Dumburger Magok, ordering chicken tenders or whole chicken leg comes with ranch sauce, and you can add that ranch and the fries to your cheeseburger. Nutty, crispy fries plus fresh, creamy ranch make a tastier french fry cheeseburger with a richer texture!

How are Dumburger chicken tenders? Crispy, salty and great with beer

Dumburger's chicken tenders aren't the usual moist, soft kind; they're fried very crisp. Even holding one, I could barely feel any grease, just the crunchy coating!

They were salty enough to make me think of beer right away. Dipping them in the tangy ranch made the flavor feel a step more refined. With a burger set, fries alone can sometimes feel a bit lacking, but if you add the big chicken tenders at Dumburger Magok, you can enjoy a handmade burger set with nothing missing!
