Jung-dong, Bucheon pub: cheese squid hot plate for two at Suljogeombam

Spider-Man just came out in theaters, right? Before my friend and I went to see it, we grabbed a good meal at Suljogeombam Bucheon City Hall branch, right next to Sopung CGV, a Korean pub spot in Jung-dong, Bucheon that I really recommend >< The interior was so pretty, the space was spacious, and the owner was really kind. It's a pub, but it's also a solid place for full meals, so I'd strongly recommend it.

A forest-like atmosphere inside

Suljogeombam Bucheon City Hall branch is on the 2nd floor of the Hyundai Central Park building. The interior was seriously stylish and unique — from the entrance, it felt like walking into a forest haha

As you go up, checking out the sign that says meals are available along with various menu descriptions,

you see this luxurious chandelier — you could really feel how serious they are about the interior!

Suljogeombam Bucheon City Hall branch has a particularly spacious floor and pretty interior, making it great for both dates and group dinners — a striking moon sculpture caught my eye at the entrance too haha. The whole place is decorated with wood, so the vibe was really nice.

Group seating available

There's also group seating — if you go further inside the store, there's a very spacious area for group meals. It seems perfect for company dinners!

A private, quiet inner space

And besides the outer seating, there's a private and quiet space a bit further in, which seemed perfect for a cozy date haha

The squid pork belly hot plate is the signature menu at Suljogeombam Bucheon City Hall branch ~! Besides that, the aged kimchi pork belly hot pot is another meal-worthy best menu item, I heard. There were also plenty of simple drinking-food options like chili cheese sticks or spicy potato bread! And I heard the fried chicken is as good as a dedicated chicken shop haha

First, the basic snack sticks that came out were really tasty — kind of like churros, with a cinnamon flavor too, really charming.

We added cheese, so the half-and-half pan came with plenty of cheese too — check out the whole squid next to it, the quality is no joke, right?

It wasn't just whole squid — there was also pinecone-cut squid mixed in, so it felt like there was a lot of content. And there was pork belly with no gamey smell in there too.

We also ordered the flying fish roe rice balls, which go perfectly with the squid pork belly hot plate. A classic combo, right? haha

Eating it with the cheese stretching out was really delicious.

We cut the squid into bite-sized pieces with scissors and ate it up. My friend who came with me also said it was really tasty. The seasoning was spot on too haha

The squid and pork belly went so well together that the rice balls we ordered disappeared quickly ><

According to the owner, they grate the potatoes one by one, mix the dough, adjust the consistency, and let it age to make this — a labor-intensive menu full of care haha That's exactly why it was so tasty!!!!

The sugar sprinkled lightly on top was the kicker haha

The buldak mayo sauce that came with it was moderately spicy and nutty, which paired well with the chewy, sweet potato bread.

The corn cheese also went well with the potato bread? You should all try it this way too! Next time I want to try the chili's menu.

Overall review

The owner really cared about the place. From the start, the service was friendly, and the menu was varied. It's a spot I really liked because meals are possible and the interior is clean and nice. Since group gatherings are possible, I'd like to go next time with several friends!!
