Tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes) is the kind of soul food you crave every once in a while *_* Today I'm introducing Yum Bbokki (얌볶이), a tteokbokki spot in Gojan-dong, Ansan, that was great value and tasted good too. It works well as a Gojan-dong date spot, and parking was easy thanks to the building's underground car park. I'll walk you through everything from the food to the atmosphere below.

Where is Yum Bbokki in Gojan-dong, and where do you park?
Yum Bbokki is on Gojan-dong Rodeo Street in Ansan, easy to reach by public transport as well as by car. With such good access, it was simple to fit into our Gojan-dong date route.

For parking, you can use the building's underground car park. If you call the shop before you arrive, they give you the entry code, so driving in was painless. For reference, you enter the code on the keypad to the left of the barrier.

When we arrived at the shop, delivery riders were coming and going nonstop. It's clearly already famous as a tteokbokki favorite in Gojan-dong, Ansan, so my expectations went up even before we sat down.

Is Yum Bbokki's atmosphere and seating good for a date?
The inside of Yum Bbokki was cute yet clean. The white and orange interior felt warm and fresh, which made it comfortable to eat in.

There's a mix of seating from tables for two to tables for four, so it was easy to use. The spacing between tables was just right, so it never felt cramped, and the cozy mood made it nice to chat and take our time. Besides a Gojan-dong date, I think it would also work well for meeting friends or a family meal.

Self-serve radish broth at Yum Bbokki
There's a self-serve bar at one side of the shop with warm broth made by simmering radish fresh every morning~ I poured a cup while waiting for our food and it settled my stomach, just perfect.

What tteokbokki is on the Yum Bbokki menu?
Yum Bbokki's tteokbokki comes in four kinds, basic, rosé, jjajang and cream, so you can choose to suit your taste! You can order from one serving, so it's no pressure for solo dining, and if you come in a group, the good-value 3-serving tteokbokki is a hearty option haha.

Beyond tteokbokki there are plenty of sides like fried snacks, sundae (Korean blood sausage) and rice bowls, so you can eat to your taste. If you want to try many of Yum Bbokki's dishes at once, I recommend the value and hearty sets~ The variety is wide and the price is reasonable, so satisfaction was high *_*

Why we added an extra serving to Silsok Yam Set 2
We ordered Yum Bbokki's Yalsok Iyam Set 2, and the portions were so generous that the two of us were full. The set includes 1 serving of tteokbokki + fried snacks + a tuna rice ball + fishcake soup.

I wanted to try the basic tteokbokki but couldn't give up the rosé either, so I added one more serving of tteokbokki to Set 2. Honestly, I figured one serving wouldn't be much, but when it arrived it was way more generous than expected and I was surprised,,, haha.

Mild basic tteokbokki with ramyeon noodles
I added ramyeon noodles to the basic tteokbokki to make it even more filling! You can adjust the spice level, and I ordered mild. Even though I usually can't handle spice, it was easy to eat, with a moderate kick and plenty of savory depth, just right for my taste >.<

Rosé tteokbokki with sausage
I added sausage to the rosé tteokbokki and the combination was really good. The thick, creamy sauce soaked deep into the rice cakes and went so well with the sausage.

Fishcake soup and the fried snack set
The savory fishcake broth that comes with the Yalsok Iyam set paired really well with the tteokbokki. The fried set had fried squid, gimmari (fried glass-noodle seaweed roll) and fried fishcake, and the crispy-outside, tender-inside texture was satisfying haha.

Tuna rice ball dipped in tteokbokki sauce
The rice ball, packed with tuna, tasted nutty from the first bite. Dip it lightly in the tteokbokki sauce and it gets even better with the spicy sauce! It fills you up nicely too, so it's a great side for tteokbokki.

Why Yum Bbokki is our tteokbokki pick for a Gojan-dong, Ansan date
If you're looking for a great tteokbokki place in Gojan-dong, Ansan, I'd recommend Yum Bbokki. The generous portions and reasonable prices made it really good value, the spice level is adjustable, and the varied menu makes it a good spot for dates as well as family visits~
