Grilled king shrimp and Ipsaeju at a Wolsan-dong seafood restaurant
Hwanggeum Hoe Pocha Gwangju Wolsan Branch is a seafood restaurant in Wolsan-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, serving seasonal live fish and shellfish. On an early weekday evening the writer ordered the grilled king shrimp and raw shrimp sashimi set with a bottle of Ipsaeju soju, and it came with self-serve pajeon (savory pancake) and seaweed plus free sides of mulhoe (cold spicy raw fish soup), chomuchim and grilled herring. With a wide hall and plenty of tables, Hwanggeum Hoe Pocha works for a date night or a large group.
