Daegu sushi restaurant: first trip meal and Kirin draft, Sushi Naru

First meal on a Daegu trip: Sushi Naru near Yeongdae Hospital Station
Sushi Naru Yeongdae Hospital Main Branch is a sushi restaurant in Daemyeong-dong, Nam-gu, Daegu, near Yeongdae Hospital Station on the Apsan side. Our lodging on this Daegu trip was near the station, and the place was recommended to us as a Daemyeong-dong favorite. From good-value sushi to specials! Fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and a great range of menu choices made it a perfect meal ^^
The setup was just right! Mini udon comes standard when you order sushi~ nice 👍 You always crave udon after sushi, right? And sushi calls for a draft beer (nama biru)~~ Sushi Naru sells Kirin draft beer, so I couldn't resist.. even though it was daytime, I ordered one, and yes! Excellent choice haha First meal in Daegu: success 👏
Sushi Naru Yeongdae Hospital Main Branch hours and parking
Sushi Naru Yeongdae Hospital Main Branch is at 145 Jungang-daero, Nam-gu, Daegu (1st floor of the Sushi Naru building), open Tue–Sat 11:30–22:00 with a break from 15:00 to 17:00.
There is no dedicated parking lot. On weekdays between 9 am and 4 pm, you'll need to use the paid public roadside parking on the road toward the Yeongdae Hospital entrance (226-1 Daemyeong-dong, Nam-gu), the private paid lot 'Uri Yuryo' (51-1 Daemyeong-dong, Nam-gu), or nearby alleys. At other times you can use the Daegu Bank parking lot next door.
Inside Sushi Naru: a little corner of Japan, plus seating
Sushi Naru in Daemyeong-dong, Daegu looked like a sushi shop on a Japanese street, lifted and dropped right here.
There are bar (dacchi) seats where 1–2 people can eat comfortably, plus tables for 4, so it works for solo meals, for a sweet date with your partner, or for a family meal like mine.

Sushi Naru menu and prices: how much does it start at?
Sushi Naru starts at ₩13,000 for the 10-piece assorted sushi. There's a good variety: assorted sushi, special sushi and premium special sushi. The meal sets pair assorted sushi with tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) or a salad set for even better value. They also sell a wide range of Japanese dishes: assorted sashimi, rice bowls, cutlets and bar snacks.
Owner-made sushi at Sushi Naru: what we ordered
Every table has pickled scallion bulbs (rakkyo) and pickled ginger, so help yourself. They also serve salad and white kimchi on the side, and this is the kicker!! They go really well with the sushi.
We ordered the assorted sushi, the special sushi, and Kirin draft beer.

Sushi Naru in Daemyeong-dong, Daegu has an open kitchen, so you can see how they handle the ingredients and watch the sushi being made, which made it easy to trust what we ate.
When is Sushi Naru Yeongdae Hospital Main Branch less crowded?
On weekdays from 12 to 1 pm, the lunch hour, Sushi Naru fills up with students and staff from Yeungnam University College and Yeongdae Hospital. We came at 2 pm, a bit after lunch, and delivery orders were still coming in nonstop~
⭐️Visit tip!! When you visit Sushi Naru in Daemyeong-dong, Daegu, I recommend making a Naver reservation or avoiding lunchtime! It's a popular spot, so skipping the lunch rush should let you eat in a relaxed, comfortable way ^^
