24-hour study café in Seohyeon with chocolate latte: Slowway Coffee

Slowway Coffee Bundang Seohyeon branch is a 24-hour café on Seohyeon-ro in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, with white-and-black sofa seating on the first floor and a group room plus a dim study space on the second. At Slowway Coffee we tried the real chocolate latte (₩8,000), the fresh blueberry tomato juice (₩8,500) and an Earl Grey gâteau chocolat, and the gently sweet chocolate latte stood out. Slowway Coffee is a good pick near Seohyeon Station for quiet conversation or late-night hours.

Kalguksu spot by Tancheon with five-crab bibim naengmyeon: Myeongyeok

Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae (면계옥 분당수내점) is a chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and naengmyeon (cold noodle) restaurant near Tancheon Stream in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, about a 5-minute walk from Sunae Station Exit 3. We ordered the chicken kalguksu with chicken tenderloin katsu set and the seasoned crab bibim naengmyeon with chicken tenderloin katsu set; the bibim naengmyeon came topped with more than five seasoned crabs, and mixing the chicken kalguksu noodles with perilla oil made it fun to eat. Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae is a good fit when you want a filling meal that is different from ordinary naengmyeon.

Sokcho café with 3rd-floor two-seaters facing Ulsanbawi: Cafe Neorae

Cafe Neorae is a large mountain-view café in Sokcho, Gangwon, near the soft tofu (sundubu) village on Haksapyeong-gil, looking straight out at Ulsanbawi Rock in Seoraksan. The entrance is on the 2nd floor with wood-tone tables and a bread showcase, and the 3rd floor has two-person seats at the floor-to-ceiling windows, where the Neorae Latte (7,500 won), sua da einspänner (7,500 won) and choco cream snail bread were served. Cafe Neorae is worth a stop in Sokcho when you want a green mountain view instead of the sea.
