Exterior of Smith's Farm, a Western restaurant in Haeundae

Since it was harvest holiday season and my mom had worked so hard, I took her to Smith's Farm, known as a Western food spot in Haeundae~

Earlier this year I visited and couldn't get a table because there was no parking, so this time I did the 11am opening rush — even on a weekend, there was plenty of seating~ When we left around 12:30pm, the place was packed but there was still parking to spare~~ After eating, my verdict: I'm going back again even with the parking hassle!!!

Inside Smith's Farm: atmosphere and seating

Stepping inside, the interior was so pretty~~ simple and upscale but also cute and detailed~~

Simple, detailed interior decor of Smith's Farm
Awards displayed inside the restaurant

So many awards on display~~ built up my expectations~~ With a name like Smith's Farm, I vaguely figured they'd use good ingredients, and the whole meal I kept being amazed at how good the ingredients really were~~

A pre-set table at Smith's Farm

A neatly pre-set table~ From outside I didn't expect the space to be this big, but the interior was more spacious than I thought~~

Even though I came right at opening, the inner seats were already full of guests~ Definitely a well-known Haeundae spot~~!!

Spacious indoor seating with guests seated

I'd booked ahead and was seated here~ Such a nice atmosphere~~

Orange leaf ade, 7,500 won: a green tea-based ade

Orange Leaf Ade ₩7,500

I'd never seen this kind of ade at any other restaurant, so I gave it a try~ It's a tea ade made with green tea plus orange and tangerine flavors~

A glass of green tea-based orange leaf ade

A flavor I'd never tasted before, and it was so good~ The tangerine and orange notes were lovely~ The green tea wasn't too strong, sitting underneath as a base, letting the citrus freshness come through lightly — I really loved that~~

Smith's cabbage, 10,000 won: why it works as a starter

Smith's Cabbage ₩10,000

I love cabbage so much I ordered this~~ Cabbage nicely torch-seared and served over cream sauce~

The richness of the cream sauce paired so well with the cabbage, and the crispy bacon bits that crunched here and there seasoned it perfectly~

Grilled cabbage served with bacon

It wasn't cooked to mush — the outside was charred while the inside kept the cabbage's crunch, which made it great as a starter~~

Signature dish: stone octopus steak, 29,800 won

Stone Octopus Steak ₩29,800

Smith's Farm's signature dish, the stone octopus steak~~ Octopus paired with soy-butter sauce and carrot purée~~ The visuals were insane

They explained you dip it into three different sauces~~ The grilled vegetables looked so appetizing too, right~?

Plump octopus legs~ I worried it might be chewy, but why did I even worry — it had just the right texture~!!

First I tried the octopus alone, then had it with the vegetables the second time. The carrot purée base was so delicious that my mom and I kept asking each other, 'Wait, is this really carrot?' The grilled vegetables came in many varieties too, all so well charred that you could really taste the ingredients themselves

Pumpkin sweet potato gnocchi, 23,800 won: how it differs from potato gnocchi

Pumpkin Sweet Potato Gnocchi ₩23,800

Everything we ordered was delicious, but the gnocchi is a must-order menu item

A plate of pumpkin sweet potato gnocchi

I love gnocchi and have tried it at many restaurants, but Smith's Farm has two kinds — potato gnocchi and sweet potato gnocchi. The potato version is made with cream cheese, and the sweet potato version with pumpkin cream cheese as its base. I ordered the sweet potato gnocchi, which I'd never had elsewhere, and it was completely, completely great!!

Sweet potato gnocchi topped with arugula and enoki mushrooms

There's a cream sauce underneath that tastes like pumpkin cream soup, with sweet potato gnocchi on top. Arugula and grilled enoki mushrooms are piled on generously too

The gnocchi had a faint sweetness from the sweet potato, and the chewy texture was outstanding. It went perfectly with the arugula, no need to even mention it, and the grilled enoki mushrooms had such a great texture too

Is Smith's Farm worth booking for lunch with your mother?

Even the receipt was this pretty~ Smith's Farm was a place where you could taste the quality ingredients and the care behind them the whole meal through. My mom usually eats small portions but ate so well this time, saying 'We ate everything so cleanly, kind of embarrassing~' while clearly enjoying her meal — that made me so proud too~

Seeing so many families and group gatherings here, it's clearly a well-known local favorite~~ If you want a nice meal out in Haeundae with high-quality food and a great atmosphere, I highly recommend it~~
