Harbin beer and fried eggplant at Marine City Chinese, Busan: Bueokgan
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Chinese restaurant with a Dongbaekseom ocean view, on the 2nd floor above Subyeon Choego Pork Gukbap in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. The writer ordered poached-egg pork belly ganjajang (noodles with black bean sauce), seafood jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and eohyang gaji (Sichuan-style fried eggplant) with a Harbin beer: the eggplant was never soaked in its sauce and stayed crisp to the last bite, while the jjamppong broth was sharp and bracing. Bueokgan serves traditional Chinese cooking with an upscale finish, and black vinegar tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) is next on the list.
