If you're looking for a place near Gudi Station where you can have a beer and also have something to play with, take a look at Eulji Pocha (을지포차). This time I had yukhoe and beer at Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch, and there was a claw machine inside, so the fun of eating came with the fun of playing.
When I visited, they gave me a claw machine coin every time I ordered a dish. I ordered food and got a coin too, so it felt like getting an extra little gift. It was my favorite part of the night, so I wanted to share it with anyone searching for a good bar near Gudi Station.

What is the interior of Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch like?
The inside is decorated like an alley of old-time shops. From an OB Bear beer sign to signs that recall a record shop and a stationery store, the mood was a little different from an ordinary bar. Even though you're indoors, it feels like you've set a table down in the middle of an alley.
There are round metal tables and black chairs, and every sign has a different color and shape, so it's fun to look around. The lighting also seemed to vary a bit from space to space. If you like this kind of retro interior, there's quite a lot here that catches the eye.
The brightest thing among it all is the claw machine. Its neon lights stand out from far away, and when you get close, the first thing you do is check which dolls are inside. Running into a claw machine in a bar was a small delight of this visit.

Do you get a claw machine coin when you order a dish?
When I visited, Eulji Pocha gave a claw machine coin with every dish ordered. Just having a claw machine is nice, but what I especially liked is that it doesn't end with eating the food, because you can try the machine yourself. Once you get the coin, you head straight to the machine to scope out what to go for.
Inside are lots of dolls, and it's the familiar kind where you move the handle to line up the claw. Watching, it looks like you'd grab one in no time, but doing it yourself is a whole other story, right? This isn't a how-to-win video, but I filmed a short clip of my attempt too. My skills were exposed right in the video title, which is a secret… haha
I liked how play like this changes the mood of a night out at Eulji Pocha. Instead of sitting at the table the whole time, you wander over to look at the dolls and try the machine, and that gives you one more scene to remember. If you like claw machines, check the coin notice when you order a dish.

How do you join the no-miss roulette event at Eulji Pocha?
At the time of my visit, Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch had a notice for a no-miss roulette event that you join with a QR code. The screen I saved shows that I won a drink. On top of the claw machine coins, a little event like this caught my eye.
The winning screen said to add their KakaoTalk channel and then show the result to a staff member. If you want to join, just check that day's in-store notice. Whether the coins or the roulette event are running, and their conditions, may vary depending on when you visit.

Ordering from the Eulji Pocha menu, and the beer
You can browse the Eulji Pocha menu on the tablet at your table. It's divided into soups, main dishes, sides, drinks, highballs and so on, so it's easy to look for the type you want first. That day I picked yukhoe and beer.
Basic snacks came to the table, and the beer arrived in a mug with a handle. Seeing the white foam rising over the glass, I felt ready for a beer. With the colorful lights around and the beer glass together in view, Eulji Pocha's particular atmosphere carried right over onto the table.

What does the yukhoe at Eulji Pocha look like?
The yukhoe at Eulji Pocha came shaped into a round mound on a black plate. An egg yolk sits in a hollow in the middle, with white topping sprinkled over it. A sauce is served separately on one side of the plate, so the whole composition was eye-catching.
Even a familiar yukhoe gives a different impression depending on how it's plated, and here the contrast between the yolk in the center and the black plate was crisp. Up close you can see the topping and the yolk better, so I took a photo before eating. That day I had the yukhoe as my side dish with beer.
Who is this Gudi Station bar, Eulji Pocha, recommended for?
Looking back, I remember Eulji Pocha as a place where yukhoe and beer come with the fun of a claw machine. I especially liked getting a coin with every dish ordered. Having time to look at which dolls were inside and try for one myself gave the night a scene a bit different from an ordinary drinking session.
