Guwol-dong seafood restaurant: the shrimp head-cutting tip, Veteran

Veteran General Fish Market Incheon City Hall Branch is a sashimi and seafood restaurant in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, near Yesulhoegwan Station. Two people ordered 600g of salt-grilled shrimp (46,000 won), butter-grilled shrimp heads (3,000 won) and shrimp seafood ramyeon (7,000 won), along with the free side dishes, a self-serve kimchi pancake and grilled Pacific saury. The best takeaway from Veteran General Fish Market was a staff tip: leave a little meat on each shrimp head when you cut it off, and the butter-grilled heads taste even better.

Samseong Station bossam spot: holiday set, chestnut kimchi, Yangeunine

Yangeunine Samseong Station Branch is a Korean restaurant specializing in bossam (boiled pork wraps) and dongtae-tang (pollack stew), near Exit 5 of Samseong Station and COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. On a holiday, two people shared the Yangeunine set of pollack stew, squid bossam and mul naengmyeon (cold noodles), and Yangeunine was still busy; the crunchy kimchi with chestnut and carrot and the pollack stew packed with roe and milt stood out. Verdict: the Yangeunine set is almost too big for two and highly recommended for anyone who wants bossam and pollack stew in one meal.

Guksuhwa (국수화) is a shabu-shabu and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) hot pot restaurant in Namdong, Incheon, across from Namdong Asiad Rugby Stadium near Exit 4 of Namdong-gu Office Station.
