Is the semi-curtained room at Woosang Hwarogui Maebong Station good for a date?
If you reserve a semi-curtain room at Woosang Hwarogui Gangnam Maebong Station Branch, you get a private spot in the hall with a curtain drawn around it. The place has low lighting and a calm mood, so it's perfect for a date.
I booked the semi-curtain room, and they showed us to a spot in the hall with a curtain drawn.

Once the food was served, we closed the curtain, so we could chat quietly without worrying about the next table. The mood was great too, a perfect date course!

Also, as soon as we sat down they handed us a warm towel, a neat real cloth towel with the restaurant's name on it! When I unfolded it to wipe my hands, steam was pouring off it. Such a thoughtful touch, honestly.. In winter it would thaw your hands, so it passed with flying colors from the first impression!!!
What's in the 410g Sang assorted platter, and how much is it?
What we ordered at Woosang Hwarogui was the Sang assorted platter (상 모듬 한판, 410g) for ₩85,000, plus one bottle of beer. The platter has three cuts: chamjinsal, angeomi-sal and gadak galbi.

A heap of scallion strips comes with the meat too, and the staff told us to knock it over and take what we like onto our own small plates.
The basic table setting was tidy! Sauces were served individually for a few items, including the cucumber peppers.

For dipping, our small plates came with three things: salt, wasabi and wasabi soy-sauce mushrooms.
What order should you eat the Sang platter in, and how done?
The staff at Woosang Hwarogui told us to eat in this order: chamjinsal → angeomi-sal → gadak galbi. They recommended medium rare for the chamjinsal and angeomi-sal, and medium well for the gadak galbi.
You start with the tender cuts so the later ones taste even better, haha
First, chamjinsal: a name I'd never heard ★

First on the grill was the chamjinsal! Honestly, I'd never heard the name. So I looked it up while eating: it's the cut at the top of the rib, right where it meets the sirloin. Its trademark is marbling spread like snowflakes!

I took a bite, half expectant and half curious, and the meat was thin and tender and really delicious.

We grilled some shishito peppers too, and the meat's juices and the peppers' sharp kick went really well together.
Second, angeomi-sal: my fiancé's number one ★

Next is the angeomi-sal. It's a specialty cut, apparently only about 600g per cow, and it's a kind of skirt steak (toshi-sal)!

The angeomi-sal was thicker than the chamjinsal and had a firmer, chewier bite than I expected.

Grilled medium rare as the staff suggested, the juices burst out. Yes!! My fiancé's pick of the day was this angeomi-sal.

We both come down with an uncontrollable beer craving whenever the meat is too-o good, so even though we both have work tomorrow, just one light bottle!
Third, gadak galbi: the charm is in the chew

Last is the gadak galbi. It came rolled up, and when we unrolled it, it stretched out so long that we were surprised before we even tasted it.

It tasted good, of course, but it felt a bit tougher than the first two cuts. But that's the charm, right? The more you chew, the more beef flavor you get, and medium well was just right.
What grilled vegetables come out? Don't skip the tomato
At Woosang Hwarogui Maebong Station Branch, the vegetables you grill alongside the meat are mushrooms, tomato, pineapple and corn. The grilled tomato was especially good.

Everything was good, but especially the tomato! Grilled, it's honestly so tasty. Please try it. The corn tasted good too, but when I tried to cut it with scissors, juice came out and it was a little hard to eat, ugh.
Side dishes and dessert: watch out for the cucumber pepper..
The cucumber pepper served as a side at Woosang Hwarogui is quite spicy, and the wasabi soy-sauce mushrooms cut the richness. For dessert, a staff member sprinkles pepper, salt and olive oil on Excellent ice cream right at your table.

A cucumber pepper comes as a side, and it was seriously spicy. I let my guard down and my mouth was on fire..^^ Still, it worked well as a mouth reset between bites of meat, lol

These wasabi soy-sauce mushrooms were great for cutting the richness. Eaten with the meat, they just keep going down.

At first I thought, it's only 410g, we'll have to order rice too, but it was surprisingly filling, so we skipped a meal item!! For dessert they gave us the nostalgic ice cream Excellent. A staff member came to our seat and sprinkled pepper, salt and olive oil on it

It tasted good and the show was fun too, so we decided to try this ourselves as dessert at our next housewarming party💗
Is Woosang Hwarogui Maebong Station also good for a blind date?
It was my first time at Woosang Hwarogui Gangnam Maebong Station Branch, after all the dates we've had in Maebong! The mood, service and taste were all top. Sitting in the curtained-off seat felt private and great for a date, so honestly I think it would suit a blind date too.
