Pyeongtaek pho restaurant with a 4:1 hoisin hot sauce mix: Mibundang
In short
Mibundang Pyeongtaek City Hall Branch (미분당 평택시청점) is a pho restaurant on the 1st floor of CM Tower near Pyeongtaek City Hall in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. Over lunch with her husband, the writer ordered 2 bowls of brisket and tendon pho (₩26,000) and sweet potato jjajo (Vietnamese fried spring rolls, ₩3,000), mixed the noodles in a secret sauce of hot sauce and hoisin at 4:1, and got bean sprouts and brisket on top of the extra noodles. Thanks to a broth simmered with herbal ingredients like black garlic and ginseng, Mibundang is the writer's only choice for pho in Pyeongtaek.

My husband took one bite and fell in love. This is my favorite pho place in Pyeongtaek and the one we keep coming back to: Mibundang (미분당).

Mibundang, a great pho spot near Pyeongtaek City Hall ◡̈

Before going in, order at the kiosk outside. Then wait a moment and they call you in by meal-ticket number.

We came at 12:00 and it was full, so we window-shopped at AK Plaza, then came back after the lunch rush and there were plenty of seats.

Mibundang's pho broth is carefully simmered with black garlic, ginseng and other herbal ingredients known for boosting immunity, so it tastes healthy and full of savory depth.

Menu and what we ordered
There are 5 pho options at Mibundang Pyeongtaek City Hall Branch: brisket (chadol) / beef shank (yangji) / brisket and shank / brisket, shank and tendon / tendon. How to eat Mibundang pho the tasty way
How to eat Mibundang pho the tasty way
- Put noodles, bean sprouts and meat in a bowl, add a little onion and hot sauce, and mix
- Mix hot sauce and hoisin sauce at 4:1 for a different flavor
- Pour a round of Mibundang hot sauce into the noodles for a spicy kick
- Put noodles, bean sprouts and meat in a bowl, add cilantro and mix with hoisin sauce (even if you dislike cilantro, it goes down easily with hoisin)
- Put rice paper and hot sauce in a small bowl and mix
- Extra noodles are free when you order one meal per person
- If you want cilantro, ask the staff separately
Tip: if you need water or side dishes, put the empty dish on the table and they will refill it.

The shelf above your head holds hot sauce, hoisin sauce and chili sauce, and they even provide hair ties. Nice touch!

Take the sauce bottles out of the table drawer and make the secret sauce at 4 parts hot sauce to 1 part hoisin.

How were the brisket tendon pho and sweet potato jjajo?
🍜 Brisket tendon pho: I'm greedy, so I picked the pho piled with brisket, shank and tendon. I've had it at the Gangnam branch too, but the neatly stacked look of this bowl is a total 180 from Gangnam.

🍠 Sweet potato jjajo: a jjajo stuffed with sweet sweet potato mousse. I've tried almost every jjajo at Mibundang and this is easily number one.

I fill a bowl with noodles, bean sprouts, brisket, shank and tendon, then add a little broth to keep it moist.
Mibundang's broth has black garlic and various herbal ingredients, so it's fundamentally different from other pho, and the savory depth knocks me out every time..♥️

Dip the sweet potato jjajo in the sweet chili sauce that comes with it and enjoy!

Sweet sweet potato mousse spills out of the super crispy jjajo. If you eat pho at Mibundang and skip the jjajo, you're a fool.

My beloved tendon (*Ü*)ﻌﻌﻌ♥ I've had the tendon pho before and it never seems to run out, so if you're a tendon lover, I recommend it.

Even the onions at Mibundang are jmt (insanely delicious): pickled sweet with no sharp bite, a perfect match for pho (I got two refills, but that's a secret).
Clean with no fuss, yet the broth is about 47,618,296 floors deep. I love it!!!

Why I only go to the City Hall branch
I was about to burst after eating half, so, gg..
My husband asked for extra noodles, and the owner asked if he wanted bean sprouts too and even laid an extra slice of brisket on top. Other branches don't add the sprouts and brisket, so when I want Mibundang, I only go to the City Hall branch ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈ )◞♡
