Today I'm introducing Eat Sandwich Cheomdan Hospital branch. I recommend it as a great brunch spot in Cheomdan🥪 Personally, among sandwich franchises, Eat Sandwich is my favorite.

Why Eat Sandwich instead of hospital food during a stay at Cheomdan Hospital

This Eat Sandwich branch is close to Cheomdan Hospital in Gwangju, so it's a healthy sandwich café to eat at instead of hospital meals. My dad suddenly said his shoulder hurt, so he was admitted to Cheomdan Hospital, just briefly (T_T). And the food at Cheomdan Hospital is reeeally not good. Patients seemed to order meals in a lot too, but Eat Sandwich became my little pit stop that I visited at least once a day.

The European-feeling terrace at Eat Sandwich is super popular in weather like this. You can check the menu and prices before going in, and since it's an all-in-one café with coffee, sandwiches, salads and desserts, it's perfect for snacks or a meal replacement✔️

What's the atmosphere like?

The shop is big with lots of tables, so it's comfortable to stay a while. It's a stylishly decorated, cozy café, so it's also a nice Cheomdan café for dates🤎

There's a wide range of drinks too! The coffee, though, seems to be made with rather light beans.

How to order and tips

You order at the kiosk near the entrance. Because of the Iran war situation, the chuck flap steak is being swapped for pork neck steak, so keep that in mind when ordering~

There are high chairs, so it's a good Cheomdan café to bring kids. You get a free homemade cookie if you write a review, and the restroom is for Eat Sandwich customers only, so it was clean.

They fill the coffee cups right up to the brim, so generous~ The bright lighting and neat plating make photos look appetizing. The cups, plates and trays were all clean, not sticky at all!!

How does the Shanghai butter rice cake taste?

The Shanghai butter rice cake (₩3,500) is properly crisp outside and chewy inside. The inside is super chewy and the outside is crunchy, and they warmed it up for me, so I got to eat it at its best!

On nice days, Eat Sandwich opens its folding doors, so you get a full open-air café feel🍃 Coffee tastes even sweeter with a gentle, cool breeze~~ღ

Takeout: good as a snack gift?

I packed the Cajun chicken sandwich and the vegetable salad croquette as snacks for my dad and my boyfriend to eat later. Eat Sandwich wraps everything individually and neatly, so it works well as a snack gift to hand out, or to take along on a picnic.

Cajun chicken sandwich: I recommend switching to rye bread

My favorite is the Eat Sandwich Cajun chicken sandwich (₩7,500)🥪💛 Truly no one dislikes it, and I like switching from the regular milk bread to rye bread!

Proof shot of my happy dad, haha. He had the Cajun chicken sandwich instead of breakfast and said it was tasty, and that the lettuce was fresh and plentiful so he got full, which made me proud. It's a light but filling, chunky sandwich that works as a breakfast substitute too!

Vegetable salad croquette

The vegetable salad croquette is the original in every way. A crispy croquette packed with moist vegetable salad, a perfect match.

Tasty and filling as a snack or a meal, Eat Sandwich also has a big, clean shop, so I recommend the Eat Sandwich Cheomdan Hospital branch as a brunch café in Cheomdan~
