Namdareun Gamjatang Suncheon Jorye branch is a gamjatang (pork bone stew) and bone hot pot restaurant on Baegyeon-gil in Jorye-dong, Suncheon. On a day drained by summer heat, the small Vitality Bone Hot Pot (₩37,000) came topped with two cloves of black garlic, a whole ginseng root and sutchonggak mushrooms, and the self-serve bar offered unlimited ramen noodles and broth. Namdareun Gamjatang Suncheon Jorye branch is worth a stop in Jorye-dong when you want a restorative boyangsik meal at a gamjatang restaurant.

Rainy-day first meal at a Jocheon, Jeju noodle restaurant: Myeonjumak

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is a pork noodle and dombe pork (sliced boiled pork) restaurant on Beonyeong-ro in Jocheon-eup, Jeju, an easy stop on the way to Saryeoni Forest Path and Eco Land. Arriving at Jeju Port on a rainy first day, the family ordered a half dombe samhap platter of black pork, horned conch and abalone for 35,000 won, a double portion of anchovy noodles and abalone porridge; the boiled pork was springy and the double bowl was filled to the brim. With a wide parking lot and baby supplies on hand, Myeonjumak made a satisfying first meal of the trip.

Kid-friendly Jeju café by Sinchon Port diving spot: Robain Coffee

Robain Coffee Jeju Jocheon Sinchon Branch is a sea-view café right in front of Sinchon Port in Jocheon-eup, Jeju. After watching divers leap into the water at Sinchon Port, we ordered an iced Americano, an organic blended tea called 'Sumgoreugi Jeomsim' and iced chocolate lattes for the kids, then worked our way through the café's annex, grass lawn, second floor and rooftop. For a slow Jeju day with children instead of a big theme park, Robain Coffee Jeju Jocheon Sinchon Branch is a fine choice.

Kid-friendly café near Sehwa Beach in Jeju: Sigan-eul Damda Gujwa

Sigan-eul Damda Gujwa is a café with a reflection pool garden in Pyeongdae-ri, Gujwa-eup, close to Sehwa Beach on Jeju Island.
