Rainy-day first meal at a Jocheon, Jeju noodle restaurant: Myeonjumak

On the first day of our 2-night, 3-day family trip to Jeju, Myeonjumak was the very first restaurant we picked after arriving at Jeju Port. It was pouring rain that day, so we were craving something warm and found it while searching. It's well known as a Jeju pork noodle restaurant, but it also has so many other delicious menu items that I wanted to introduce it to you all!

Where is Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch, and how close is it to Saryeoni Forest Path and Eco Land?

From Jeju Port to Myeonjumak is about 14km, roughly 20 minutes. Best of all, it sits right along the route to major spots like Saryeoni Forest Path, Eco Land, Snoopy Garden, and Geomun Oreum — perfect for a breakfast or lunch stop before or after sightseeing!

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is open daily from 09:00 to 15:00.

The parking lot inside is huge and comfortable enough that even tour buses full of group visitors could park with ease. The interior is also spacious and clean, making it a great pick for family visits.

What does Myeonjumak offer families with young children?

Myeonjumak's amenities were really thoughtful and full of little touches — hairpins, phone chargers, kids' spoons, a microwave for baby food, stain remover, even mouthwash. So many considerate services prepared for traveling families with children.

Tips for eating at Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch

• Self-serve anchovy broth: you can pour yourself as much savory warm anchovy broth as you like before your food arrives
• Dombe pork serving times: 9am and 12pm! Time your visit right and you can get freshly boiled 100% Jeju black pork dombe pork
• Free baby noodles: kids up to 36 months get baby noodles for free

One wall was decorated with various posts helping you understand Jeju a bit better, nice to read while waiting for the food.

Also, apparently Myeonjumak was selected as a 2026 National Restaurant with a top 3-star rating — a verified good restaurant, they say.

At the self-serve corner there's diced radish kimchi and kimchi, but the kimchi was almost gone. Guess Myeonjumak's kimchi is popular.

Pork noodle soup, gukbap, abalone porridge, dombe conch, dombe abalone, and more are the signature dishes.

We got off the ferry at a late lunch hour and were starving, and looking at the menu, everything looked delicious~~ our hunger really spiked ㅋ

What we ordered: dombe samhap, anchovy noodles and abalone porridge

Half dombe samhap (black pork, horned conch, abalone), 35,000 won

Served with a flag certifying it as Jeju black pork, the dombe samhap is Myeonjumak's own signature dish, featuring fresh conch and abalone sourced directly from haenyeo (female divers) alongside moist boiled black pork.

First, dipping the abalone in vinegar-chili sauce, yum~ chewy texture, oh~~ delicious. It's a seafood our kids usually don't eat much since it looks like jelly to them, but somehow it disappeared. Where did the conch go?

And wrapping the boiled pork up nicely for a bite~~ not dry at all, well-boiled and springy.

With more road ahead of us, instead of a drink we had a cup of the savory warm anchovy broth~~

Double-portion anchovy noodles and abalone porridge

Maybe because of the rain, we ordered only warm dishes — the anchovy noodles taste exactly like you'd expect!!!

Since it was rainy we mostly ordered warm soups, and when we got the double portion of anchovy noodles, they filled the bowl to the brim. The double portion is plenty enough to fill up even an adult man. The noodles also had a springiness the other places didn't. The abalone porridge also boasted fresh abalone and a generous amount — even our kids, who barely touch porridge or seafood at home, ate it up here, which surprised us. This is a place that really wins kids over too!

The noodles had a slightly different springiness than other places. The kids ate the abalone porridge well too — is this place just good at suiting kids' tastes? At home they won't eat it even if I tell them to.

Was Myeonjumak a good first meal in Jeju?

Jeju has so many delicious places, but Myeonjumak left nothing to be desired — the taste, the portions, the friendly service, and the easy parking all came together for a satisfying first meal in Jeju.
