About

Matdeurin started in 2009 as a small eatery in Gangneung's Gyo-dong housing district and serves gamjatang (pork bone stew) and pork bone haejangguk (hangover soup). Matdeurin trims its own bones and makes the broth for its gamjatang and haejangguk from beef bone stock simmered for more than 24 hours.

Matdeurin makes its own soft tofu (sundubu), ground soybean curd (kongbiji), kimchi and side dishes, and the soft tofu goes into Matdeurin's haejangguk, gamjatang, intestine hot pot and kalguksu. Matdeurin also serves a handmade pork cutlet whose meat is pounded and fried in-house, plus octopus dishes such as stir-fried octopus and octopus & intestine hot pot, and the spacious Matdeurin dining room has group seating for up to 400 people.
