Moyeon Mapo is a Hanwoo dining restaurant built around the combination of meat (yuk), noodles (myeon) and rice (ban). The name Moyeon comes from 'Nongam Moyeon', one of the Eight Views of Mapo, and carries the meaning 'the smoke of Hanwoo grilling deliciously'. Moyeon Mapo selects Hanwoo steers under 28 months old with marbling grades of 8–9 or higher, wet-ages the beef for 500 hours, grills it over charcoal as soon as it is ordered, and offers a grilling service in which staff cook the meat at the table.

For its Pyongyang-style cold noodles, Moyeon Mapo makes 100% pure buckwheat noodles in-house from buckwheat ground at low temperature with a millstone, and simmers the broth in the restaurant every day from Hanwoo slaughtered within 3 days. Moyeon Mapo cooks its pot rice to order in a cast-iron pot using Golden Queen No. 3 rice, and serves food on works by the late ceramicist Lee Se-yong and on bangjja brassware.
