Cheonan Korean restaurant for family noodle soup: Yukdaejang

Let me introduce Yukdaejang, a great spot for old-fashioned, traditional yukgaejang (spicy beef soup)! 🤧 This is Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch, a restaurant that is lovely to visit with kids!

Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch is at 46-5 Handeul 2-ro, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do. It is open from 10:00 to 21:00, with last orders at 20:30. There is parking in front of the restaurant, along with high chairs and disposable aprons. The parking area is quite spacious, too.

I came to Yukdaejang after getting excited by the review photos! Here are the menu options at Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch. There are lots of kinds of yukgaejang, plus yuk kalmyeon—yukgaejang with noodles—so noodle lovers should go for the yuk kalmyeon! We both love noodles, so... we ordered yuk kalmyeon and got a separate bowl of rice to share, haha.

Restaurant Interior and Child-Friendly Amenities

The restaurant interior was pretty spacious! There are more than 10 tables, with plenty of room between them, so you can eat comfortably. I think it would work for a group visit, too—

There were around three or four high chairs, and they were quite clean, so it felt nice and comfortable to seat the baby there.

You can also see the owner's thoughtful touch in the phone-charging area and coffee provided for after your meal! Enjoy your food, then have a coffee for dessert too ☕️

Two Self-Serve Side-Dish Stations

This is the self-serve station for extra side dishes! Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch has two of them: one in the middle near the entrance, and one by the kitchen! All the side dishes were so tasty, but the stir-fried fish cake was especially delicious ㅜㅜ! My husband and I refilled it so many times 🤣💕 You know a restaurant with great side dishes is the real deal, right..?

Let me show you the menu at Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch once more—besides yukgaejang, there is gabrisal bossam (boiled pork wrapped in leaves), braised beef short ribs, yukgaejang hot pot, budae hot pot, soft tofu hot pot, and gopchang hot pot!! Next time, I plan to come back for hot pot too.. ♡

Yuk Kalmyeon and Bulgogi We Ate with the Kids

Since we came with the kids, we ordered all sorts of things for them too! While waiting, we tried the side dishes!

This is the stir-fried fish cake I said was delicious.. It was so good.. If you visit Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch, please make sure to try it 🤣💕

Finally, all the food we ordered came out! Chicken yuk kalmyeon, gopchang-packed yuk kalmyeon, Eonyang-style bulgogi, and bone-broth rice cake dumpling soup. It all looked so delicious..

It was my first time seeing yukgaejang with gopchang (beef intestines) in it, so I was excited. And since it was yuk kalmyeon, it seemed like it would be even better.. As a noodle-loving person 🤧 I was going to slurp it all up before the noodles got soft, then mix rice into the broth too.

Rice cake dumpling soup is something the kids always love, so we ordered it because they wanted it! Sure enough, the eldest happily ate the rice cakes while the younger one enjoyed the dumplings. After they had some, I mixed rice into the soup for them too, and they ate it so well!

Chicken Yuk Kalmyeon

This is chicken yuk kalmyeon! There was quite a lot of chicken in it—the rich broth paired so well with the chicken, and it was delicious 🐔💕

Gopchang-Packed Yuk Kalmyeon

This is the gopchang-packed yuk kalmyeon, and it was so delicious too!! Both are based on yukgaejang, but this one had lots of gopchang, so it tasted even richer. Maybe because I already love gopchang, I liked it even more..

Eonyang-Style Bulgogi the Kids Loved

Lastly, this is the Eonyang-style bulgogi that the kids ate so well! It was seasoned just right, and the meat itself was tender, so they ate it really well when I put it over rice 🤧 I tried it too, and I liked that it was soft and had a bit of a tteokgalbi (Korean grilled meat patty) feel—
